I have been wanting to do something like this for a bit now. Every once in a while, I’m going to restyle a piece or an entire outfit for Try It Again Tuesday! I don’t know exactly how this will go. There may be times when the outfit is completely different from the original, and other times, it may be just a tweak here or there. And, I thought this V Neck Cross Back Jumpsuit from Clara Sunwoo would be the perfect start! Last time, I wore it with a v neck white tee shirt (seen here).
The jumpsuit…
This may be my all-time favorite Clara Sunwoo piece so far! It’s comfortable, and I love the flowy legs of it. If it only had pockets, it would be perfect! I have wadded this jumpsuit up and stuffed it in a corner just to see how it would hold up against wrinkles. My friends, there are no wrinkles! It would be a nice option for lunch with a girlfriend (who understands when you take extra time in the restroom), dinner out with your SO (who may or may not understand the same thing), and even a good traveling outfit. My only qualm with taking it on my upcoming trip is the legs puddling (pardon the pun) on the floor as well as having to take layers off of the top of it! If you have a long trip coming up when you’ll be sitting for a while, this would be the perfect thing. It just doesn’t wrinkle, and you will arrive looking quite fabulous!
The biggest change…
Today, I’m showing it with one of my favorite tops from Old Navy. This is the Luxe Sleeveless Top. Some of them have this interesting texture while others are smooth. I like the ones with texture best. It seems the printed ones are the smooth versions. I bought three last summer, and I’ve bought three this summer. They are so versatile because you can wear them under so many different things. Today, I’m wearing the zinnia color, and it’s on sale (well, bigger sale than usual). I love how the pink really stands out against the black of the jumpsuit. I did have to make sure the top was smoothed down under the jumpsuit, though.
Other options…
I doubt I will showcase this again, but I can see it with a denim jacket. I wonder how it would look with a denim shirt underneath it? It may be a bit bulky with this jersey fabric. I have several different long sleeved tees and my merino sweaters from Garnet Hill to wear with it. See? The possibilities are huge
The Lewk!
At first, I had picked out pink and black jewelry for this Lewk. Then, I thought about Jodie’s recent video when she was talking about color theory. I decided to go with jewelry on the opposite side of the wheel. Since my top was pink, I went with soft shades of green as compliments. The necklace varies in color from different shades and tones of green and blue. The earrings, as well as the necklace, are from J Jill. Two of the stretch bracelets are from a little boutique I found years ago. The green beaded bracelet is from my eBay days! I added these fun (though barely walkable) sandals from L’Artiste. Most women could probably walk in them. Thanks to my Frankenfoot, my three middle toes on my left foot don’t grip shoes so I walk right out of these! But, they still work for photo shoots. One of these days, I’m going to figure out how to fix them so I can wear them out and about…without having to use double sided tape…ouch!
Wrap it up, Marsha!
I did buy the black and white striped luxe tank, but it was just so dull against the black. The stripes were very narrow so maybe wider stripes would work. I might have to try the pink/white striped tee I wore here to see. So, can we talk? Which version do you like best? What other options would you try? Do you like the idea of Try It Again Tuesday as a semi-regular feature? Please leave me a comment or two, and we can talk. I promise to respond as soon as possible.

I love that outfit and it does look like something you could easily wear while traveling!
Thanks, Lisa! I really do like it, but that bathroom thing is real. And, gas station bathrooms are not always the best!
No they are not! They are scary!
I always shudder when I see characters on tv or in a movie sitting on the floor in a public restroom. The worst, though, are when they are lying face down on one! Yikes!
The pink and black go well together.
Thanks so much, Rosie! I really was happy with the way it turned out.
The pink and black pair so nicely together! I really like the idea of a Try it Again Tuesday since it showcases how versatile a simple piece of clothing can be.
Thanks, Joanne! It also gives me something to talk about on those days when I just can’t come up with something!
Nice job with this one Marsha! I really like the zinnia color against the black. The jumpsuit is such a cute style and you are right – the layering possibilities are endless! The no wrinkle fabric is heaven sent isn’t it? Perfect for travel but really just so cute for everyday too!
xo,
Kellyann
Thanks, Kellyann! I think I like this better than the plain white tee. But, I wonder if it’s because it’s sleeveless at the same time? Hmmm…I will be experimenting much more with this because I honestly love it! I was expecting a couple of little wrinkles, but there weren’t any! It’s amazing!
What a great idea to style a piece differently here! I love the layering and pop of color with the jumpsuit. So cool that there are no wrinkles!
https://www.kathrineeldridge.com
Thanks, Kathrine! I knew I wanted to try this with pink, and I’d been thinking of doing something like this for a bit. So, I combined two ideas into one blog post! Honestly, you could maybe iron some wrinkles into it, but it didn’t wrinkle when I wadded it up as an experiment.
Stunning!! Love this outfit especially on you. You look lovely.
Thank you, my friend! I really appreciate you!
It doesn’t wrinkle AND i could arrive looking fabulous?! I think this could be the one, haha! Seriously, this is very cute and I would have run from the very open back, but the way you’ve layered it brings it back into contention…why do I never think of doing that?!
Hahaha!!! Yes, you would arrive looking fabulous! You might have a bit of drywall dust in your hair or a paint smudge on your nose, but you would still look fabulous! When I saw the little video on their website with the model wearing it without a top under, I thought it looked OK. I think it looks so much better with something under it to give it life. And, no way would I wear this without anything under it because ain’t nobody want to see that!
Thanks, Em!
First off I love that you went with a different color for the jewelry. I think it’s such a modern way to update an outfit.
And with jumpsuits like these I always like the idea of layering under them because going to the bathroom is part of life and why make it hard?
The idea of a slim crewneck or even v-neck sweater is brilliant.
And even if you do try the denim shirt, if you want it smoother you could always layer a tank Cami over it. I know it sounds like a lot but in the dead of winter it’s good.
Xoxo
Jodie
Thanks, Jodie! I remember, from inservices, you have to put something into practice within three days of learning about it to retain it! So, I made it! I will probably always want to be matchy-matchy, but stretching myself is a good thing! I am definitely going to experiment more with this jumpsuit because I just love it! I think, even with a cami over the denim shirt, it would still be bunchy under this jersey. It’s not thin, but seams really show up under it.
Fun idea!
Instead of a click-to-old-look, may I suggest starting out with the photo of the old look or a side-by-side comparison composition?
Then us lazy people have less “work” – haha.
Oh, that’s a great idea, Anne! I will definitely do that the next time. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it to begin with!
Thanks!
Great idea to do such series. Because we all wear our clothes more then once right, lol. Lovely colour combination!
Thanks, Nancy! I know…you’d be surprised how many times I wear the same thing over and over again!
I love this on you! I need to try one of the ON luxe I guess! I can see you wearing this into fall just styled differently!
Thanks, Amy! I really do like the Luxe line. The only problem I have is our awful water. Anything white will come out very dingy. So, I have to wash white somewhere else.
You inspired me today! I ordered my own jumpsuit and it’s on it way! Thanks for the great idea, Marsha!
Thanks, Laura! I’m glad you liked the idea. I was hoping it would look as good IRL as it did in my mind! I hope you love your jumpsuit, too!
I love it when people restyle different pieces from their closet: this is making me think that I should put a tank under my Clara Sunwoo jumpsuit. I haven’t worn it in a while. I have been doing several blog posts with my tulle overlay dress thing, I have 2 posts coming up with it. I love doing that with pieces you think you might only wear one way.

Thanks, Mireille! I just thought it would be fun to try something different with both the pantsuit and the blog. I always enjoy how you put together different things different ways!
Hi, Marsha – This black sleeveless jumpsuit inspired me to think about using my sleeveless black maxi dress in a few new ways. Usually, I save it for going someplace nice. It’s just as usable as your black jumpsuit, though. I adore your accessories and love how the beautiful shoes have both the pink and blue green in the print. You look gorgeous in this outfit – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
Thanks, Angie! I am trying to wear more of my “good” things now, too. Sometimes, I feel a little overdressed, but I prefer that to being underdressed! Aren’t these shoes beautiful? I just have to figure out how to keep them on my feet!
The bright pink is gorgeous with the black jumpsuit – this is a winner!
Thanks, Sally! I think I like this even better than the white tee!
Good morning from Blighty Marsha.
Try-it-again … great idea.
I agree, pink and black work well together think they suit you. For my money, the white top works better because it has sleeves =makes the outfit slicker and you look taller. The cream/white dress is, like you, very pretty but I think it is a bit too full.
All the best, Mary
Thanks, Mary! I was just trying to come up with some different ways to post. I love this jumpsuit and want to wear it lots of different ways. Oh, I will have to wear it often with the white tee if it makes me look taller! I need all the help there I can get! It is a very full dress, but there are days I really enjoy that silhouette.
Your outfit is lovely and looks very comfortable. I love wearing my cashmere dresses in the summer because I feel amazing in them too.
Thank you so much! Oh, I love Cashmere, but I’m not sure I’d wear it in the summer. Perhaps, it’s cooler where you are!
