Yes, I’m at it again! I’ve joined another group. You may be familiar with many of the bloggers in this group. I don’t know Christie, but I hope to gain a new friend as this goes on. Now, as you know, I’m not one to set goals. I see them as setting myself up for failure, but how can you tell Leslie no? We are going with a very open ended approach to this, though. Some of us will be focusing on finances, shopping, etc. Some of us will be talking about setting goals. And, some of us will be discussing bucket lists. I’m going to use bucket lists and goals (look at me)! There’s also a link party! Check it out at the end of this post.
A little more…
Throughout the quarter, we will be posting updates. Well, let’s be honest, they’ll be posting updates. I’ll try to remember to do it! But, I’ve just taken over the running of the Tell Us About/Global Writing Challenge as Gail is backing away from blogging as much. And, I still have to write my mini retreat that’s in March…yikes! On top of that, I start docent training on the 18th. Just call me an over achiever…go on, call me one! I’m not sure anyone ever called me that as I truly used to be on top of things! Anyhoo…I’m going to be realistic about both my Bucket list and my goals.
Without further ado…
My goals all have to do with cleaning, purging items…you know the things you never do until you decide you’re going to blog about it so you’d better do it! Here they are:
- Clean out vanity and linen cupboard in primary bathroom.
- Clean out closet in second bathroom.
- Continue purging my closet.
- Clean out Nigel’s closet
- Begin walking routine.
- Join gym.
- Continue to save toward new shower in primary bathroom as well as fall trip.
- Do Not buy any new eye shadows!
- Clean out closet in front bedroom.
Just a bit of explanation…
We have only lived in this house for a little over two years. One would think the vanities and closets would be in good shape. One would be wrong! I’m probably going to start with Nigel’s closet as it will be the easiest. I’ve also been working on the vanity in the primary bathroom as I think about it so that may be a bit of a cheat.
Bucket list…
Now, to be perfectly honest, I don’t drink. My bestie told me she’d find me a wine I liked, but she never could. I always expect it to taste like cranberry juice (which I love), but it never does. So, I drink cranberry juice out of a wine glass! But, this was the only bucket photo I could find! So, there’s that done. I may be different from others. I look at bucket lists as something that is not necessarily easy to accomplish. I am not going to feel badly if I don’t accomplish anything on this list as I can always move it to the next quarter.
- Go out to lunch with a friend.
- Wallpaper accent wall in primary bathroom.
- Paint primary bathroom.
- Begin planning trip to London/Liverpool.
- Begin to think about fall trip with my travel buddy.

That sounds like a very manageable bucket list and I wish you the best of luck with your goals. I too have never found a wine I like and am often so disappointed when I’m handed a glass to try with the promise that I’ll love it or “it’s sweet!”… I never do and it never, ever is. I do love cranberry juice and often mix it with a bit of OJ for a “fancy” breakfast drink.
Thanks, Joanne! You and I could just stand in a corner with our cranberry juice and make comments about what a great undernote this drink has! I have tried and tried to like wine, but it’s just a no go for me. Hmmm…I have never tried it with OJ. That would be an interesting combination. I’ll have to try it sometime.
Marsha,
I posted my WOTY post to this new party…I really like the idea of it and will be working on a Goals for 2025 post to link up!! Thanks so much for hosting… It sounds like fun! I HOPE 2025 is a great year for everyone!!
Hugs,
Deb

Thanks, Deb! You can link up other posts, too. I’m not doing a WOTY this year. I did one last year, but I have no clue what it was. Obviously, it didn’t work for me. I think people who come up with them and use them are amazing. I hope your 2025 is wonderful!
Yeah you’re a over achiever…..haha, just like I was once. Do your thing as you like right. Happy New Year Marsha!
Hahaha!!! Nancy, I have never been an overachiever until this year! I’ve always just kind of bumbled along, but now, I really have to be organized. Happy New Year to you and Gerben!
I like these! I think writing some goals/bucket lists helps me focus and refocus when I need to, so I was glad for this opportunity! I also enjoying seeing what others want to focus on! I need to start some extra lists for this quarter, like renew hubby/one child passport, and at least figure out which breaks we are taking vacations this year.

Thanks, Mireille! I’m actually more of a list maker and just tick the things off as I accomplish them. I just haven’t ever made them formal, like on a blog post formal! Other than the possible trip to London, I’m not sure we’ll go anywhere. So much depends on Mike’s walking situation. It’s been a long, hard time for both of us.
These seem like great goals to have! We always try have a clean out in the run up to Christmas, donating the things the boys have outgrown. So many toys and books and oh my goodness the clothes. I’m a sucker for a cute tee so they have a LOT of clothes. It’s good to donate and clearout and have space in the toy boxes and wardrobes for all the new things they get for Christmas though!
Hope you are having a lovely start to the new year Marsha 🙂
Thanks, Mica! I do try to clean out closets before the holidays, too. But, this year just got ahead of me. I’m a sucker for cute tees (for me, though), too!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, Mica!
I chuckled when I saw the one about not buying new eyeshadow. We all have that something we just can’t seem to resist over buying, right? I look forward to reading about your bucket list/goal adventures!
Thanks, Sally! I am after that perfect shade of purple eyeshadow, and then I see the palettes. I swear I must be part magpie! I hope I remember to post updates.
That is a whole lot of closet cleaning! Oh boy. But what a productive winter you will have….you will be able to skip spring cleaning:) Now planning a trip to London – that sounds like something I would like to put on my bucket list (if I had a bucket list)!! Happy January to you!
thanks, Jennifer! Well, some of the closets are pretty well organized. They just need a little spiffing up! Nigel’s closet is a nightmare because he insists on just wadding things up and stuffing them on shelves. He also keeps things that are well past their wear-by date! I’m really hoping the London trip can be accomplished. I love London, but I’ve never been to Liverpool.
Happy January to you, too!
I really wish we lived closer because those organizing tasks are so fun for me. And I would be over there to help you with them in a nanosecond.
As for not buying any more eye shadow oops, I just got some. 😂😂
Xoxo
Jodie
I think we’d have lots of fun! You’d probably wonder how in the world I’ve gotten to this age and been so disorganized! Actually, at our last house, I was super organized because I had so much space. Here, I have to work with less than half the space I had there. So, closets are crammed as are dressers. And, that really bugs me! I like my stuff (clothes, crafts, etc) easily accessible and neatly put away.
Oh, if you saw my eyeshadow drawer, you’d understand! I’m so tempted because it’s just a little thing, right? What’s your favorite color to buy?
Thanks, Jodie!
What a great way to stay accountable! I would also love to wallpaper my powder room!

You honestly want to make me feel bad about not having any goals, do you? 😉
Seriously though, this is looking like a good list! I hope you will manage as much as possible from it, but if not, hey, that’s not going to bring the world down and that’s always good to know 😀

Hello Marsha! It’s nice to meet a new blogger, and I too look forward to building a friendship through our shared interest in blogging and lists. We can thank Leslie for bringing us together. Good luck with your goals and bucket list items. I love your take on the bucket list items. I feel similar and is why I decided to call them possibilities…things I may or may not do this season.
