A Nigel update… Things are moving along wonderfully right now. Of course, Nigel hasn’t had an appointment for a few weeks. His physical therapist upped his appointments to an hour. They are working hard on strengthening those glutes and the thigh muscles that had been taking it easy. His walk is much, much better. I’m …
Not much new on the home front when it comes to Nigel’s recovery. He had another appointment on Monday. The surgeon, quite frankly, is beginning to worry me. Maybe he’s just thinking out loud, but he’s confused about the images he sees on the x-rays. He did say the fracture is healing, but where the …
Number #21 Ya know, I really thought October would be a month of wonderful things. Instead, it was a bit like what Jack does right after his dinner…one big hunk of steaming you know what. I mean, it was my birthday month, but nothing really special happened. I don’t know why I set myself up …

Love… As I said in a recent post, I’ve been thinking a lot about my parents. When my dad died in 1974, he was only 45 years old. While Mom and I knew death was an inevitability, Dad thought (or pretended to think) he was getting better. He often spoke of the trips he and …
A Nigel update… Nigel had a doctor’s appointment this morning, and the x-rays revealed his implant has moved a few millimeters. They are concerned about that so he’s to only put 25% of his weight on the leg he’d been told to put his entire weight on for these last two weeks. They wouldn’t let …
I am going to be that person and say, “I can’t believe it’s the 10th of August already!” The last couple of weeks have been sooooo slow and yet have gone quite quickly…if that can even happen. Well, it can’t really happen unless quantum something or other is involved, right? Anyhoo, Nigel got a really …
