Floral shoes, too!
You know how some people love stripes or kimonos or denim? I seem to be that way about florals (though I think I would draw the line at floral denim). I think it’s in my DNA! I mean, my maiden name was Rose! I mentioned here I have these sandals in green, yellow, and black. Don’t be surprised to see them in the next few days!
Floral jewelry
I don’t have a lot of floral jewelry. I think most of my jewelry tends to be more classic in nature. My eBay purchases of gemstone jewelry did have floral motifs in the design, but I keep forgetting to wear it! I’ve been getting better…rummaging through this box and that drawer!
Floral skirt…
It’s funny, for someone who swore they didn’t like tiered clothing, I sure seem to have accumulated a lot of it! I had some rewards to spend and picked up this skirt (similar) from Old Navy a few weeks ago. I didn’t have a chance to pull together an outfit until recently. I wore this sleeveless sweater to pull out the purple in the skirt. I really like it even though the reviews are mixed. Many people complain about it being short and wide, but I find it to be just right. And, I’m wearing a petite size! The denim jacket is from Talbots (last year).I like the ruffled collar for a change of pace on a denim jacket.
Floral wallpaper…
No, I’m not going to show you any, but we once wallpapered our bedroom with a floral print. And, my daughter’s bedroom was floral on top with a striped paper on the bottom. At that particular house, we had a long, narrow bathroom. I was completely flummoxed on how to decorate it. I think we probably wallpapered it four times and painted it twice that many times in the 20+ years we lived there. Nigel just glares at me if I so much as start to say wallpaper!
Floral upholstery
One of my favorite pieces of furniture is a love seat. Right now, it lives in the front room/study. It’s a deep plum color with a floral print in golds and greens. I know…it sounds hideous, but I love it! I’m not sure there is a place for it in the new house. Nigel has promised we’ll find a place because he knows how much I love it. If I were a piece of furniture, this just might be it! A couple of years ago, we bought LaZBoy recliners. Mine, of course, has an abstract floral print in sage green and ivory.
The Lewk!
I told you I had multiples of these sandals! I decided to let the skirt do the talking with this outfit so I kept the accessories to a minimum. I decided on amethyst jewelry to pull out the purples in the skirt. There are days I feel like Iris Apfeling it up, and days I don’t. This was a non-Iris day! The bracelet and earrings are eBay purchases and are at least 10-15 years old. The necklace is from Coldwater Creek and features three big old chunks of amethyst. Let me tell you…if you drop that necklace on your pinkies…you will know it!

Wrap it up, Marsha!
I know you are used to me prattling on and on about this and that. I have to admit I just wasn’t sure what to write about today! I knew I wanted to use this outfit, and florals seemed like the thing to talk about! So can we talk? What is your favorite print or pattern? How do you feel about wallpaper? How do you feel about florals on wallpaper, clothing, or upholstery? Please leave me a comment, and we can talk! I love responding to your comments; I really do! And, as always, thank you so much to my subscribers.

Greetings from Poland 🙂
Well, thank you for visiting from Poland! And, thank you so much for the compliments!
I have always loved a good floral pattern – and I love your skirt. Pairing the skirt with the denim jacket is always such a good look. Speaking of looks – I’m with Nigel on the wallpaper. Gosh I love it but then when I want to take it down I swear I will never do it again. Of course now there are some that are supposed to be easy to put up and take down.
How cool that you ran into someone who reads your blog – you are a celebrity Marsha!
xo,
Kellyann
There was a time, Kellyann, when every square inch of our old house (not the one we just sold) was papered (except for the 15-20 foot staircase). I was the one who had to take the paper off (I actually found that kind of satisfying). You need a paper tiger to remove wallpaper…just don’t give it to a man or you’ll have perforated walls! I speak from experience!
I adore skirts and denim jackets…such a natural pairing, right! Thanks, Kellyann!
Oh I love this outfit! I used to have a few tiered maxi skirts and I just LOVED them… in fact reading this post made me realize why I am not loving the new maxi skirts I purchased recently. I’m missing those tiers.
Thanks, Joanne! It’s funny because just last summer I was saying I wouldn’t be buying tiered skirts or dresses! Gotta be careful what we say, right?
I love this floral skirt Marsha! The sandals are really special too. I love the look of wallpaper but I’m so lazy when it comes to actually installing it.

Now, see, the wallpapering is the part I enjoy the most! I like it even more than picking it out! There’s just something so satisfying about making those patterns line up and seeing a room transform! I doubt I’ll ever have any wallpaper ever again! What I forgot to say in the blog post was that, at one time, every square inch of the house was wallpapered (except for the 15 foot staircase)!
And, thanks for the compliments! I appreciate those!
De fato, seu artigo foi muito bem explicado gostei de ler.

Obrigada!
You look great. Love the print of the skirt as well as your floral shoes.
Thank you so very much! And, I hope I have just subscribed to your blog!!! If not, please let me know how!
That skirt is fabulous Marsha. The thing with the prints is you don’t even notice the tiers!! But you gotta love the flow and ease of movement with it.

I have to admit it was the floral print that captured my eye!!! It is so comfy and swirly…both things I love!
The skirt is beautiful, and you carry it so well. Your sandals are pretty!

Thank you so much, Lovely!
Your skirt is so pretty on you! I really like the bright colors in the print. And your sandals are so perfect with it!
Thanks so much, Laura! I think the flowers are pansies, and I love pansies!
Florals suit you just fine, you apply your unique twists and own them! I do have floral wallpaper on what used to be called a “feature wall.” It’s very out there! Thanks for linking. I’ll be there on 10 on the 10th!
Oh, I think you’ll need to share that wall some time! I love wallpaper…the bolder the better! I can’t wait to see your 10!
I love this floral inspired outfit, Marsha! And the ruffled collar on your denim jacket is awesome! I’ve not seen one like it. And I’m going to need a photo of that purple loveseat. I think it sounds awesome!

Thanks, Michelle! I just had to have the ruffled jacket! Talbots has it in other colors, but I just don’t wear colored denim jacket that much.
I’ll have to see if I can figure out a way to work the loveseat into a post! I think you would love it, too!
The house I grew up in had wallpaper in every room including the ceilings. I can’t even imagine how long it took to get it all removed when decor styles changed. Your skirt is fabulous! And, a good idea to buy those sandals in multiple colors! I always say I’m going to do that when I find something I love but never do.
Jill – Doused in Pink
Oh, that’s one spot I never papered though I tried to talk Nigel into it a couple of times! Luckily for him, we had those knock-down ceilings so there would have been so much prep to do before even putting the paper up. These sandals are probably close to 15 years old! I remember asking my son and his wife to run to the Nordstrom store to pick up the yellow (or green, I don’t remember) pair!
Thanks for coming by!
Adore this look Marsha, that’s pretty colours and really do suit you. Oh and I love the jean jacket! Jacqui x
Thanks so much, Jacqui!
Beautiful outfit! I like how the colors in your top, jacket, sandals and jewelry all combine to complement the lovely colors in the floral print skirt.
