Finally…
I’m not in love with the front porch this holiday season, but it’s finally done. Usually, we have a garland draped over the door with lights. It always looks so good (at least, I think so). I was trying to hang the doohickey that holds the garland. I needed another arm, but I only have two. I got the dang thing assembled, but I couldn’t hold it in place long enough to lock it down. So, this year, the front porch is a little understated!
This jacket…
For the last couple of years, I’ve seen other bloggers and content creators sporting this jacket. I found some at Von Maur, but they didn’t have my size. I was able, though, to feel it which is something I like to do before ordering something online. I was amazed at the way it looked like leather but had the lightness and flexibility of a knit. Jess, at Elegantly Dressed and Stylish, has this same color, I think. I was smitten. It just looked so…well, elegant!
Hype and this jacket…
This jacket, the Liquid Leather™ Signature Jacket, is truly wondrous. It honestly looks a lot like distressed leather and drapes beautifully. The zippers give it that edgy look. I selected the Merlot color which is a muted burgundy color. I really think it will be very versatile given everything in my closet. The only downsides are the lack of pockets as well as missing that wonderful leather smell.
Is it worth it…
As it is with everything I share on the blog, worth is a little subjective, right? I don’t know your budget, so this may be a huge splurge. I was lucky enough to be gifted the jacket (that’s why each item is italicized). For others, this may be an ordinary expense. I think the jacket is definitely worth the price. I’m even considering buying one in a different color. One of the perks of this jacket is it’s machine washable. They advise using a garment bag to protect it in your closet. I’m going to have to get one of those! So, ultimately, is it worth it? I believe it is…if it’s in your budget and would work with your closet, aesthetic, and lifestyle. I definitely believe this jacket is worth all the hype you see and read!
The outfit…
When my wonderful contact at Clara Sunwoo emailed and asked me to select an outfit for the holidays, I was quick to list this jacket. My biggest problem was what pants to put with it. As you know, I’m definitely vertically challenged. I’m 5’1″ on a good day! But, because of that, I can hem pants so well, you don’t even know it! I loved the silhouette of these Rayon-Ponte Knit Pleated Wide Leg Pocket Pants. I could tell, from the video, they would be much too long. I definitely had to hem them…about three inches. These are so, so comfortable and swishy. And, they have pockets!!! So, bottoms were selected. What top would work with both pieces? Well, the Glitter Foil Mock Neck-Tie Detail Top seemed like the answer. I liked the slight glitter of the top as well as the tie. I decided to just go with a square knot rather than tying a bow. I could easily tie a bow in front or to the side for a completely different look. And, unlike many tops that are a bit itchy due to the metallic fibers in it, this one isn’t a bit itchy. I put together a wish list of looks and sent them off. I may have actually squealed a bit when I opened the package to reveal the Liquid Leather™ Signature Jacket in Merlot! I decided to bookend my look with some burgundy boots. These are the boots that started it all! I don’t think they have my color anymore, but these Georgiana Boots are quite similar. And, yes, that’s a bit of a nick on the toe of one. I need to find a dark brown or maroon marker to try to make it less noticeable. Since there is so much sparkle in my top, I decided to skip a necklace and go for a pair of statement earrings. I bought these last year during Black Friday, but, guess what? They’re still available and on sale! They’re from J Crew and are the Colorful Floral Hoop Earrings.

I honestly have loved everything I’ve received from Clara Sunwoo. Over the last couple of years, I’ve gotten ankle length pants, capris, a jumpsuit, and other items. I actually roll the ankle pants when storing them, and they never wrinkle. I considered taking them to Ireland, but I’m so glad I didn’t as I needed long pants for that! Nigel thinks I need the black version of this jacket. It’s sold out, though, in my size. There is another…hmmm! I have a couple of leather jackets…I need to check to see if they fit now. Thanks, Nancy! It’s really just a coated knit fabric that gives the appearance of leather. I really like the way it feels, but I do miss the smell of leather! I love to have my tiny little porch really decorated, but this year it just wasn’t happening. You know me, Nancy! I don’t do anything little!

I am a huge fan of liquid leather – living here in FL I can honestly wear it year round. It is elegant! I love the color you chose and how you paired it with that pretty top. I have that top too but in pink!
