Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #54!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, if you celebrate it. I remember, when I was a kid, my mom, aunts, and grandma would put together a huge spread. It was as big as Thanksgiving or Christmas. The biggest difference was we would have ham instead of turkey. Oh, and there would be lots of Jello salads! What is it about springtime that makes me think of Jello salad? As they got older, the celebration became a little less and less until we actually stopped getting together at all. Since we moved down here, we have celebrated almost every year. We skipped a couple of years here and there, but we tend to get together for Easter. This year, my oldest and his family are out of state so it was just part of us together. My oldest granddaughter suggested pizza, and since I wasn’t planning it this year (my daughter was in charge), I was fine with that. So, we had pizza, totchos (nachos made out of tater tots), and lemon bars. Of course, I bought lots of candy for everyone.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! I’m especially looking at my fashion friends! We are woefully underrepresented in the link up! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!

  1. Happy Friday from Australia, Marsha! I hope you have a lovely weekend. x

  2. Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend!

  3. We don’t celebrate Easter really. As kids, my Dad used to buy us loads of chocolate but that was about it lol!
So nice to have been a featured favourite…thank you!!
    Big hugs
    Suzy xx

    • You are welcome, Suzy! I think, when I was a kid, the big thing for us was decorating hard boiled eggs and jelly beans. None of my people really like hard boiled eggs that much so they get chocolate instead!

  4. We used to have ham every Easter too and a big family events was made out of the day with everyone in their best clothes… but over the years ours have dwindled a lot too. We had a much bigger crowd this year since my sister was up but our menu was vastly different!

    • Isn’t it funny how things change over the years? I think ours changed radically when we moved south to be nearer our kids. I regret that we don’t all (as in my brother and sister) get together like we used to do.

      Thanks, Joanne!

  5. Our Easter was busy, busy, busy. We had turkey and a full roast. Nice to hear about yours Marsha xx Jacqui.

  6. Thanks for hosting Marsha and having me over. My entries are #54+55. Feel free to join SSPS Linkup M-S: https://esmesalon.com/tag/seniorsalonpitstop/

  7. I loved those cushions. I visited that post last week too!

    • Weren’t those amazing, Lydia! Such a wonderful way to upcycle something, especially when it’s so meaningful.

      Thanks, Lydia!

  8. Sounds like a great Easter celebration. Not having to cook would be just fine for me, too. Thanks so much for the features. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year and I’ve been in gardening overtime. LOL. Enjoy your week.

    • You are so welcome, Lynne! Your garden looks absolutely lovely. Yes, it was such a nice low-key Easter. I hope, if you celebrate, you had a wonderful day.

  10. Sounds like you know how to do Easter correct. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

    • You are welcome, Patrick! We definitely did the right thing with Easter. It seems like we make each holiday a little less stressful when it comes to food so we can enjoy each other more. I hope you had a fabulous weekend and an even better week ahead!

  11. Thanks for hosting this wonderful party, my friend!
