If you’ve been around for a bit, you know I have a thing for accessories. I also have a thing for color. I can combine both of those things in the Kantha jewelry I buy from World Finds. I could link post after post after post so you could see what I’ve worn and how I’ve worn it. Just trust me, there are many. I have loved this company since discovering them a couple of years ago. The jewelry is well made, reasonably priced, and the customer service is amazing. When they reached out to me via Instagram to select some jewelry, I was beyond thrilled!
A few difficulties…
I did have a bit of a problem, though, in selecting items. I didn’t want to take advantage of their generous offer so I stayed away from the more expensive items. I’ll tell you more about the why of that in a bit. The other problem was I already had so many of the pieces! I honestly did not expect to receive all of the pieces I’d selected, either.
About WorldFinds…
World Finds is:
“WorldFinds has been woman-owned and woman-powered since our beginnings in 2001. Through our commitment to ethical practices and expressive styles, we create products that transform the lives of our artisan partners and those who wear our designs.”
A little more…
I knew WorldFinds was a fair trade company. I knew that was a good thing, but I didn’t necessarily know what it really was. Basically, a fair trade company develops a relationship with its suppliers on top of paying a fair price. It is:
“Fair trade is about much more than paying a fair wage. It means trading partnerships are based on mutual respect; that prices paid to producers reflect the work they do; that producers share decision-making power; their health and safety are prioritized; and that products are environmentally sustainable and conserve natural resources.“
Even more…
The beads in the jewelry are actually wooden and covered by “discarded Sari and Kantha” textiles. The beads themselves are made from wood scraps found at local furniture makers. The products are hand made by women in their homes or a workshop. Even the transportation of the final product to the consumer is considered. Products are sent via sea if possible or on already scheduled flights. Packing materials are also compostable and made from recycled products. To read more about WorldFinds’ fair trade practices, you can click here. If you click here, you can read more about the makers of these beautiful pieces.
My choices…
All of these items were gifted, but the opinions are my own. I love these Kantha Milieu Filled Teardrop Earrings because they are both subtle and a statement. Unfortunately, you can’t see them as well in my photos. Trust me, they are lightweight and gorgeous. The Kantha Milieu Double Strand Necklace is a little understated when it comes to my Kantha jewelry, but, sometimes, you need subtle in your life, right? The Kantha Milieu Split Bracelet was so unusual and combines large and small Kantha beads. It’s also a stretchy bracelet. I love cuff bracelets, and the Kantha Milieu Overlap Bracelet is a beautiful addition to my cuff bracelets. Each piece is lightweight and will work with a multitude of outfits. You will be seeing all of these again and again, probably in combination with my other WorldFinds pieces.
My outfit…
A few weeks ago, April Cornell had a sale, and I bought this jersey dress. It’s the Booksmart Jersey Dress. The color is called dusty plum, but I think it is more a nice rusty color. As per usual, it’s a maxi dress on me. I’ve yet to decide if I’m going to shorten it or not. It would be really cute with one of my Gudrun Sjödén slips, right? It also has a bit of beautiful tonal embroidery at the neckline. I was so happy when my new WorldFinds necklace fit perfectly and didn’t overlap onto the dress. One of the unusual things about this dress is the belt. Usually, April does a button-on belt. This time, it’s a part of the band separating the bodice from the skirt. I actually like this style better. And, of course, it has pockets! I really like the sleeves as they are unlike most of those in my closet.
The Lewk!
These are my Annemarie sandals from L’Artiste. They’re now sold out though you may be able to find them on a resale site. I don’t link to those as I can’t be sure they’re the real deal. But, you can probably find something similar to them on Springstep.com or even Superladystar.com. The jewelry is all the Milieu collection. There are still some pieces I don’t have so I may need to add those to my collection. Can one have too many bracelets or earrings? I don’t think so!
Wrap it up, Marsha!
One of the reasons I didn’t look for more expensive jewelry was I didn’t want to impact (even a little bit) the amount of money this company makes. I’m just so proud to be a part of their mission. As I said, I did receive this jewelry as a gift, but I don’t receive any commission if you click through the links. If you like this jewelry, I’d encourage you to sign up for their emails. They often have sales. WorldFinds is not just about jewelry. There are home goods as well as other types of accessories. So, can we talk? Did you know what fair trade meant? Do you like to wear multiple pieces that match? Which Milieu piece do you like the most? Please leave me a comment or two, and we can talk. I promise to respond as quickly as I can.
Thank you!

Aren’t they lovely pieces Marsha. What a wonderful company they sound. Enjoy wearing them, looks like they’ll compliment so much. Jacqui xx
Thanks, Jacqui! I love all the pieces I’ve gotten from WorldFinds and wear them with so many different things.
Very nice! It feels like a present doesn’t it. Lovely dress too, I love that colour a lot.
Thanks, Nancy! It’s a strange color. It does read a little plum online, but in person, it really is a rust color. Either way, I really like the dress and how it fits. And, yes! It was just so special to receive this gift from WorldFinds!
Very pretty.
Thank you, Rosie!
Marsha, how exciting that your beloved jewelry brand reached out to you – yay!!!! You wear their pieces so well that I hope they make this a regular thing for you. Thanks for explaining what fair trade means – I had no idea the producers were that involved and I love it.
You picked out such great pieces that will go with so much – excellent choices!
I say leave your dress at the maxi length, it look terrific!
xo,
Kellyann
Thank you, Kellyann! I was truly surprised to receive that message. And, they asked for nothing in return. I didn’t know all that went into being a fair trade company meant, either. I was happy to see how much this company cares about the people who are creating the items. I really am thrilled with the pieces I got. They are all unique and yet will go with the pieces I already have.
Thanks for the comment on the dress. I don’t like to hem jersey as it’s so persnickety!
Those are some really lovely pieces and they look like they were made to go with your new dress! They sound like a really wonderful company to support too.
Thank you, Joanne! I was thrilled when they asked to send me some things for the holidays. I had been eyeing the earrings for a while. They are even better than they seem online.
This is the kind of company we need more of because of their ethics.
Those earrings are beautiful…you just need to put your hair up to appreciate them.
XOOX
Jodie
Thanks, Jodie! I would have to figure out how to do that!!! I really should experiment with putting it up. It’s so fine that it won’t stay in most clips. But, I’ll see what I can do!
Hi, Marsha – It’s always great to find out about fair trade products. I’m on my way to World Finds now to check them out. And, by the way, you always have the cutest shoes and coolest jewelry. Thanks for sharing this shop – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
Thanks, Angie! I love shoes and always have. As far as jewelry, I’ve been lucky to have a very generous husband. But, I also love costume (do they even call it that anymore) jewelry because you don’t have to panic should you lose or break something! I hope you find lots to love at WorldFinds.
I love the pieces you chose! The colors are so pretty and can go with almost anything. Thanks for sharing this brand!
https://www.kathrineeldridge.com
Thank you, Kathrine! Honestly, except for very formal dress, I think you could wear these pieces with just about anything!
These are beautiful pieces! I love the colors and the mission!
Thanks, Laura! They honestly go with just about anything! I was so surprised to find out more about what fair trade meant!
The jewellery is absolutely gorgeous, Marsha! I’m a fan of lightweight jewellery, and stretchy bracelets because I find them more comfortable.
LOVE the dress and I think the length is perfect on you!
Big hugs
Suzy xx
Thanks, Suzy! I love stretchy bracelets because I have man hands! Bangles are just not for me even though I love them! I’m so glad you like this length because I wasn’t looking forward to hemming it!
I always think of you when I see April Cornell in the secondhand stores! I’ve bought a few pieces myself – it’s always well-made. Interesting jewelry, love the fair trade aspect. The brand of your shoes – L’artiste – is the same as the brocade tall boots I wore last weekend!
Hahaha!!! Hey, let me know if you’d like some pieces. I’m cleaning out my closet and need to get rid of some of them. I have been branching out with jewelry and have quite an eclectic collection…nothing like yours, of course! I did notice those gorgeous tall boots! Some day, I will have some tall L’Artiste boots and, hopefully, a pair of Fluevogs!
Thanks, Sheila!
I always enjoy seeing your colorful WorldFinds pieces, so it was a real pleasure to have a post dedicated to their jewelry. I love everything you picked out, but the earrings are my favorite!
Thank you, Sally! I actually did start with the earrings because they are so unique. I love everything I’ve received from WorldFinds…bought and gifted (much more bought)!
