Happy November to you! If you celebrated Halloween, I hope you had a swell time! I always loved Halloween when I was a kid. And, I really enjoyed it when my kids were little. My grands, who are all teenagers, still get dressed up and go out trick or treating1 I love that! I still can’t quite decide if I like this piece or not. Abstract art is so different, but there’s something about this piece that appeals to me…I think. If you want to read the post with all the info and more information about my look, you can find it here. The interpretations for the artwork are quite varied! So, without further ado…
Gallery of style…
First up, we have a newcomer! This is Nicole from Huisvlijt (Home Crafts for those of us who don’t speak Dutch)! She wrote, “I was having my morning coffee when inspiration struck. I’m including my interpretation of the beautiful painting you chose in the attachment. I used both the colors and the picture and the ‘vibe’.” I love how she really got into the spirit of things, don’t you?

Next is Sally from Within a World of My Own. She says, “The color scheme and nature motif of the artwork made this interpretation an easy one for me. I love this blend of muted fall colors, so I found a scarf in a similar color palette and wore it against olive green and blue denim. I was excited to debut a pair of DIY leaf cluster earrings that I made just a couple weeks ago. This is one of those situations where my wavy blonde mane felt like part of the interpretation too, repeating the golden color and undulating lines of the artwork. This is a simple, low-contrast outfit, but the layers and mix of textures gave it plenty of interest and I really enjoyed wearing it.” As always, I’m pretty sure Sally will have a bunny tale to go along with her look!

Here is Salazar who writes, “Here’s my outfit for SIA. I built it around the blouse because the color and the cut-outs remind me of the “leaves” and the sky. Thankfully, the weather has cooled down a bit, so I was able to pair it with these brown cords and my green waistcoat, and I topped it all off with my “abstract” brooch – it’s my go-to whenever we have any abstract/surreal artwork on SIA, it works so well with everything!”

Next up is Shelbee who writes, “This was another one of my serendipitous SIA stylings. I wore this super cozy outfit twice the week before you shared the artwork. When I saw the color palette and abstract trees in the painting, I kept coming back to it. The outfit has all the right colors, an abstract earthy print, a botanical print, and a tree necklace. So, I wore it again twice this week!  I’m excited to see the other outfits for this one.”

Finally, here I am! I think my look was the least inventive, but I think it reflects both the art and my style. I used the colors of the piece and added jewelry that seemed a bit abstract while also reflecting the natural world Dove loved so much.

And, that’s a wrap for this Gallery of Style!
I hope you enjoyed this week’s Gallery of Style for Style Imitating Art…thank you to Nicole, Sally, Salazar, and Shelbee for participating. Remember, you don’t have to have a blog to be a part of this style challenge. You can send a photo to the curator to be included in the gallery of style! We’d love to have more people join in! You can also still send me a photo, and I’ll edit the post to include you!
Coming up…
I hope you’ll come back next Monday to see the art work we’ll be styling and imitating! And, please visit all of the people who participated in this week’s challenge!
