May 10 on the 10th!

10 on the 10th!

When I was teaching, I’m sure I regularly got on my students’ nerves! One of my pet peeves is grammar…specifically, the incorrect use of it (not that I’m entirely exempt from that). My kids would habitually ask, “Can I go to the bathroom?” Now, I want you all to know my kids all knew, if it was an emergency situation, to just go and ask forgiveness later! We were the last classroom down the hall from the bathroom so there were times for them and me when that hallway seemed to last forever (queen of the run-on sentence)! But, I digress! Almost without failure, I’d reply, “I don’t know. Can you go to the bathroom?” Can implies ability when what they really meant was “may” because that’s asking for permission (always a teacher). I thought it would be fun to make all of May’s questions “Can” questions. Now, these questions could easily be answered, “Yes” or “No.” But, where’s the fun in that? Please elaborate on your answers.

A little cheating…

Ordinarily, I would do these 10 on the 10th sneak peeks on a not-regularly-scheduled blog post day. But, I’m just a little tired this week. I’m not sure if my thyroid medicine is too low, or if I’ve still not adapted to the time change. But, I’m cheating and using this post as my regular Thursday post. In my defense, I will be posting Friday as it’s the last Friday of the week. And, there will be a link party then!

Don’t have a blog?

Don’t worry! You can always leave all or some of your answers in the comments! If you don’t want to do that, you might discover a new blog! Blog friends, if you’d rather not participate, please share this party with others so we have lots of links!

    • Oh, it stinks, doesn’t it? My doctor just wants me to stay within the norms (as I should), but I feel like a small increase could mean a lot!

  3. These are super fun questions! I am looking forward to answering them!
