Short and Sweet

This lighting makes my hair look blue!

There’s a sale…

I know you’ll be shocked at this post because I’m going to keep it short and sweet…just like me! Right now, April Cornell is having a huge sale on clothing, linens, and accessories. All of the items I’ve shown on the blog are on sale so you should go but not until after you’ve read the blog! Just kidding, but come back, OK? If you sign up for emails, you can use the code, Beauty10, and you’ll get 10% off your $75 purchase. Trust me, you won’t have any problems getting to $75! I have a few things picked out…wink, wink!

A twirly dress…

This is the Rosalie Sundress. It is such a fun little dress. I was just commenting to Jodie about writing a post last year about the tier trend and how I didn’t really like it. My friends, that seems to be all I’ve been buying…tiers upon tiers upon tiers! As you can see, I didn’t wear a top underneath the dress. You could easily wear a white tee or just about any color because there are lots of colors to choose from in this dress. Wouldn’t a striped tee look pretty doggone fabulous, too? I hope you can get a sense of the twirling factor from the series of photos below! I’m surprised I didn’t break something!

The Lewk!

My Born sandals again! They really are a summer staple for me and have been for years. I added green amethyst (aka prasiolite) jewelry. The necklace and ring are from the Effy collection at Macy’s and are so old I can’t find links to anything remotely similar. The earrings are eBay purchases. The diamond ring is one of my “Mom” rings (I bought them with a portion of my inheritance when Mom passed). My wedding rings were at the jeweler’s to be rodium plated so my ring finger felt naked! Nose by Jack who, despite appearances, doesn’t have a thing for shoes (socks are a different story).

Affiliate links and such:

Just a reminder that Marsha in the Middle may use an affiliate link. Those links are usually italicized. If you click or make a purchase from an italicized link I provide, I may receive a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support. I recently became a Brand Ambassador for Sarah Flint shoes. You can use SARAHFLINT-BAMARSHA for $50 off your first pair. As of right now, I also have an affiliate code for Kantha Bae! Use MarshaintheMiddle in the promo code box for $5 off any order (excluding Bestie restocks)! In case you didn’t know, bloggers must disclose the use of affiliate links. That’s why I include this in each post.

Wrap it up, Marsha!

Most all of my clothing is now packed. Nigel and I have had some marathon photo shoots! I’m not sure why the coloring is so off in these pictures. I know I should get more adventurous in being out in public. But, my photos look so much better on the front porch. That being said, the front porch will soon not be an option! So, can we talk? Are you shopping any big sales in the coming weeks? I know there’s a certain sale coming up (preview online is now open). Is there an item of clothing you just can’t resist buying? Please leave a comment or two, and we can talk! I promise I’ll answer as soon as I can!

Thank you!

  1. Marsha, that has to be the perfect summer dress! It’s flowy and the perfect length but it also has pockets! That color is so flattering on you too – looking cool as a cucumber and summer ready!
    xo,
    Kellyann

    • Thanks so much, Kellyann! I was wondering about the length when I looked at the pictures. It’s really comfortable, too!

  2. That dress is so cute, Marsha! And I don’t think the colours are off…the photos are gorgeous! I used to have a favourite (flattering) spot for photos but I’ve lost that now, having moved house (sob, sob). I just took some photos indoors though and I could never do that in the old house so I’m happy lol!

    • Oh, Suzy, I feel you! I am going to have to figure things out at the new house…there’s an interesting mound of dirt behind it! I hope you’re getting all settled in!

  3. I have bought quite a few tiered dresses too and I find that I am actually wearing them! I usually have a bad habit of buying cute dresses and not wearing them but these tiered dresses are so comfy and cute. Love all your twirls and that pattern is just perfect for summer.

    • Thanks, Joanne! I have a thing for dresses and try to wear them a lot, more in the summer than in colder months.

  4. A dress with pockets, sigh, that’s dress heaven. What a gorgeous colour and those sandals look very nice too, also loooove that colour!

  5. The tiers are all the rage, and for good reason. Let’s just say how much cooler they are in our heat.

    • Thank you so much, Laura! I have learned what colors I can and can’t wear now that I’ve gone grey. My closet is so full of lilacs and purples! And, you are so right…love the tiered dresses!

  8. I love twirly, comfortable, cotton dresses like this for summer. The color and style look great on you!

  9. You said April Cornell sale, and I stopped reading and popped right over there. LOL! And I bought a couple of things too. The dress you are wearing is so cute – and twirly! I went for some periwinkle leggings and a red tunic.

    Have a great weekend, Marsha!
