Oh, my goodness! Shelbee chose this week’s art work! I am well and truly stumped on this one, but I’m sure I can find something. I recently joined Salazar and Shelbee as a co-host for Style Imitating Art. If you’re new to the blog, or just need a refresher, Style Imitating Art is a really cool idea pairing fashion with art. We begin with a piece of art, create looks based upon that art, and share them on our blogs. Anyone and everyone is welcome and encouraged to join in on the fun. You don’t have to be a blogger to participate, either! This is going to be a wild ride; I can just tell!

How it works…

Here are the details: Every other Monday, one of us will select a piece of art. That is shared via all three co-hosts’ blogs. On the following Monday, all three share their looks as well as the others’ on their blogs. If you choose to participate, send a photo to the curator for that particular week. You, as well as the other participants, will be featured on the curator’s post that Wednesday. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! If you decide to play along, please send your photo to Shelbee by February 27th at 10:00 pm EST to be included. Please, please, please join us! I think this could be the best way to start something new! Remember, you don’t have to be a blogger to be a part of this. You can snap a photo and send it in.

“Atom Heart Mother” album cover…

Shelbee and her husband recently watched a documentary on Netflix about the story of the English Art design team, Hipgnosis. They have been the creators of many iconic album covers. This particular art work is from Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd. And, yes, that is a Holstein-Friesian cow standing in a green pasture. This is going to be one heck of a challenge for me. I think my grandpa may have raised Holsteins. My mom would have definitely known! She hated getting up early to milk the bovines! Honestly, I can’t wait to see what Shelbee comes up with!

  2. Haha, my girlfriends house as some of these,, art,, on the walls as they had a farm with milk cows. Looking forward to see what everyone makes of it!

    • It will be a good round, don’t you think, Nancy? My mom would have never wanted cows on her walls because she didn’t want to be reminded of those 4:00 am milkings!

      Thanks, Nancy!

    • Now, you’re thinking, Joanne! I think you should join in on the fun! I probably will do either brown and white or black and white.

      Thanks, Joanne!

  5. I know Shelbee has some “cow” boots, but any black and white print would be cool.
