Week 113!
First, I’d like to say my heart is broken for the parents, friends, and families of those lost in the floods in Texas. I cannot imagine the loss, the frustration, and the fear. I’ve been praying for comfort and resolution for the people. This has been one of those weeks when we had something on every single day. I thought I’d scheduled Jack’s grooming appointment for today, but they called on Tuesday to remind me of his appointment on Wednesday! At one point, I had him scheduled for five haircuts on three different days! Their website needs some TLC! I did check with the groomer to make sure they wouldn’t be waiting for him four more times this week. He does look quite handsome though he’s managed to wiggle out of his cute little kerchief already. Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.
Wouldn’t you like to know more about your hostesses? We’ve got you covered there! Please feel free to drop by the others to see what their blogs are all about! We are a very diverse group of bloggers. Links to each blog appear below.

Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity. Oh, who are we kidding? Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!
Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household – The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!
Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.
Sue from Women Living Well After 50 started blogging in 2015 and writes about living an active and healthy lifestyle, fashion, book reviews and her podcast and enjoying life as a woman over 50. She invites you to join her living life in full bloom.
As part of our new year reboot, we are now shining the spotlight on a different blogger each week. We invite you to stop by their blog, take a look around and say hello! This week, we spotlight Joyce from This Side of the Pond.

Joyce says, “When I started this blog a) we were living in England, b) my girls were in university on the other side of the pond (technically now this side of the pond), and c) I had no idea what blogging was all about??? Since then we’ve moved three times, both my girls have graduated (one twice!), and I’ve decided I use too many words to meet the traditional definition of blogger, but I’m okay with that. Making a short story long is my superpower.
We’ve moved nine times in our 35+years of marriage (you do the math) with stints in Tennessee, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey (twice), Maryland, England (sigh), and most recently South Carolina (the Upstate, not the Low Country). My college sweetheart (aka the hubs) retired in February 2015, went back to work in 2016, re-retired in 2017, got his real estate license in 2018 and you can see why I need to eat my Wheaties, right? We built our dream house on a lake in rural America in 2016. I’m a big city girl who needs water and wide open spaces. The home build took a whopping fourteen months which I whined wrote about ad nauseum on the blog. Everybody asks me if I’d do it again and I love the completed house so much I just might.” You can read more about Joyce here, and please let her know we sent you! And, Joyce, if you’re reading this, please let me know how to subscribe to your blog!!! I can’t find it anywhere!

The floods are awful – 8 metres in an hour is incomprehensible. And still going. Terrible.
It is truly heartbreaking, Lydia. I cannot imagine the grief at losing loved ones, your home, everything, all in a little bit.
Those donuts look incredible!
They do, don’t they? We have so many Mom and Pop donut shops around us that I doubt I’d ever make them. Besides, I hate frying and making that kind of mess! Thanks, Joanne!
Disasters like that all around the world show us how small people are if nature is up against them. So sad.
I think I am most amazed at the power of water. It’s terrifying when you see what it can do and yet can be so calming. It is a terrible tragedy.
Thanks for the link up!

Debbie-Dabble Blog
You are so welcome, Deb! Thank you for always linking up with us! You have such beautiful posts.
Jack is adorable! I always love hearing about him.
Thanks, Michelle! He is suffering right now from his allergies. His meds cost more than mine do!
My heart has also been heavy, Marsha! May we learn from this tragedy and may we never forget… Thanks, as always, for hosting us all. We had a BUSY holiday weekend and I’m finally regrouping and filled with gratitude for all the family time we had! Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you, Laura! I honestly cannot imagine the grief those families and communities are experiencing. It’s just unfathomable. I hope you have some time to relax! Have a fantastic week!
There were so many good posts again this week! It’s so hard to choose!
I am glad you finally got your pup groomed but I am glad you didn’t have all those appointments you had to go to to do it! Ha!
Oh, my gosh! Their website is worse than WordPress, I swear! I am sure I had him down for Thursday because I knew I had things I had to do later in the day on Wednesday. They just call when he’s done rather than telling me to be there at a specific time. I, on purpose, chose a later drop off time so I’d be picking him up later. But, at least, he looks so much better. If only his allergies were as easily dealt with! Thanks, Lisa!
