Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week 116!

Would you believe it was 95 (35C) here yesterday and barely made it into the 70s (21C) today? It’s a little damp, but, gosh, it’s really nice! It makes you feel like fall is just around the corner when, in reality, we’re just starting August which is usually wicked hot! September isn’t much cooler, either. OK, weather report is over! Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

As part of our new year reboot, we are now shining the spotlight on a different blogger each week. We invite you to stop by their blog, take a look around and say hello! This week, we spotlight Joanne from My Slices of Life!

Joanne says, “Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.  I’ve been homeschooling since June of 2012 and that’s when I started my blog.  I was new to homeschooling and while I jumped in with both feet and lots of enthusiasm I was feeling overwhelmed and over my head– and I was a teacher by profession! Over time my blog has evolved to showcase more of me; my interests, crafting ideas, recipes and more.  I love that homeschooling my children has allowed us all time to peruse so many other interests– That’s why I had to change the name of my blog! I used to blog over at Our Unschooling Journey but found more and more of my posts had nothing to do with homeschooling. I changed the name of my blog to Slices of Life since that’s what I felt like I was sharing! While I may have started this blog as more of a personal diary of our days it has grown to mean so much to me.  Connecting with my readers is what keeps me coming back day after day and this blog really is a labor of love. I hope that you keep coming back to check out what we’re up to each day or even every few days.” You can visit Joanne here, and please tell her we sent you!

Wouldn’t you like to know more about your hostesses? We’ve got you covered there! Please feel free to drop by the others to see what their blogs are all about! We are a very diverse group of bloggers. Links to each blog appear below.

Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity.  Oh, who are we kidding?  Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!

Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household  – The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!

Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.

Sue from Women Living Well After 50 started blogging in 2015 and writes about living an active and healthy lifestyle, fashion, book reviews and her podcast and enjoying life as a woman over 50.  She invites you to join her living life in full bloom.

  2. Thank you so much for the feature! I’m chuffed (I’ve actually just spent an hour looking at hotels and still not booked one! Ugh!)
THank you for hosting as always! Will get to my commenting tomorrow….(I’m the worst at the moment!)

    • You’re so welcome, Lydia! I hope you figure out your itinerary. I keep doing the same thing with London. I just haven’t ever traveled on my own so the whole airport thing has me a bit frazzled.

  3. Thank you for hosting, have a lovely weekend! 🙂

  4. Thank you so much for the feature! Our weather has been a lot like yours; it was in the mid-90’s on Wednesday and barely hit 70 yesterday. We also got a real drenching and steady rainfall but it looks like we’re in for a beautiful sunny week in the 80’s.

  5. Thanks for the link up, Marsha!
    xo,
    Kellyann

  6. Thank you to you and your cohosts for providing this space for us all to gather each week, Marsha! Happy weekend!

  7. Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend!

  8. We had a couple of the same featured favorites!

We’ve also had cooler weather like you and that’s been nice, but, yes August is often a very warm month so I will have to enjoy the cooler days while I can.

    • Oh, my goodness! It has been so wonderful even though it’s been 79. It just feels so good outside! I wish we could open the windows, but 79 just isn’t cool enough for that.
