Week 121!
I got a facial today, and it was wonderful. Well, they always are, but I learned my aesthetician is leaving to stay home with her little one. We have really bonded over the years so I wish her only the best. I will get to see her one more time in a couple of weeks. And, I can always see her on Instagram! Anyway, welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm. Sue won’t be posting for a few weeks as she’s on holiday in the UK and then Norway! Have a wonderful time, Sue!
As part of our new year reboot, we are now shining the spotlight on a different blogger each week. We invite you to stop by their blog, take a look around and say hello! This week, we spotlight Beth from Creatively Beth.

Beth says, “Hey there, I’m Beth and Welcome to Creatively Beth where you will find crafts, DIYs, and printables that are fun, easy, and cute! I am the FUN Aunt who loves to doodle, paint, and create with and for the kiddos. I am a craft hoarder and a maker at heart who lives to stroll the clearance aisle and go thrifting. Designing and crafting since childhood with my Gran I was constantly sewing doll clothes, learning needlepoint, making macramé plant hangers, and decoupaging EVERYTHING, but hey it was the 70’s! She was the true inspiration for my creative exploration, which continues to this day. My creativity blossomed at the age of 12 with the gift of my first painting set. In high school and college, I started a specialty painted clothing business that thrived. Graduating in just three years with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ringling School of Art and Design, I majored in Marketing with photography and illustration experience. While making a living in the Advertising and Marketing Industry, I dove into the creative design world again making original projects with paint, wire, canvas, wood, markers, glue, and paper. I enjoy bringing a unique twist to my designs by incorporating traditional materials in unconventional ways.” You can find Beth here, and please tell her we sent you!

It’s always a bit sad when people you are connected to but aren’t really friends with say goodbye. I hope you get someone just as good tho!
Thanks, Lydia! I’m looking forward to making a new friend, and I wish only the best for my last aesthetician. She’s going to stay home and be a full time mom.
Thank you for hosting, Marsha, have a great weekend!
There used to be a lady working at the men’s outfitter. She was fantastic. Sweet, incredibly helpful, funny. Then they told me (I usually got the shirts for the ex by myself, long story) that she was sick. She never came back and although it’s been years I think of her every time I come by that store. I really missed her, the others were professionally nice, but nothing compared to her. I hope she just retired a little early.
Hopefully you’ll be just as happy with your new aesthetician.
You’re welcome, Cat! It’s funny how we form relationships with people like that. When we lived in our second house, our mailman’s name was George. He had lost an arm in the Vietnam War. His was a walking route so I made sure to have a nice cold drink for him whenever I caught him coming. I would have the kids deliver it so they’d learn that a little kindness goes a long way. I often wondered what happened to him after we moved. There were several women at a store I shop at with whom I had formed “friendships.” They left as they weren’t fans of the new management. Unfortunately, I don’t know where they went though I think most of them were in their 70s so they may have just retired.
I do love a facial! You have reminded me that I need to book one! Thanks for the link up, Marsha!
xo,
Kellyann
You’re welcome, Kellyann! I get them every month…it’s one of my many splurges. I was going to quit when they raised prices, but Mike insisted I keep going. And, I wasn’t going to argue with him!
Donna,
Happy Fall!!

Hahaha!! No problem, Deb! I’ve done the same thing!
I understand that bond and the trust that goes with it! I’m sure you’ll miss your aesthetician but I’m glad you’ve found a way to keep in touch! I have never had a professional facial but I think I may need to book one – the hydrating one is something I could definitely use! My daughters both get them regularly and love them! Thanks, as always, for another fun party!
Thanks, Laura! I am really happy for her to be able to stay home with her little one. I think most people are silent and just enjoy the experience of a facial, but we would talk the entire time. She’s actually young enough to be my granddaughter (if my daughter had had children at a younger-than-she-did age). I’m looking forward to meeting the new aesthetician. If you live near an Aveda school, they usually offer facials at a really reduced price. I loved getting them there because it was always a new experience. When my current place upped their prices, I told Mike I wasn’t going to go anymore, but he said I had earned it over the years. Who am I to fight that wisdom? Let me know if you do and if you like it!
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend Marsha. Stumbled on your blog through another link party, and I wanted to say hello. Change is hard sometimes, but in my older age, I am learning that it happens for a reason. Embrace it!
Welcome, Jennifer! I have found there are some changes that really set me back, and there are others I can just roll with. This will be one I just roll with as I see it as way to make a new friend. I do hope you’ll visit often! Thank you so much for commenting!
Thanks for the feature, Marsha. You know, I’ve never had a facial! Hmmm….
You are so welcome, Sally! I highly recommend them! Years and years ago, I would go to the Aveda school. They would have students giving them with a supervisor who would check in quite regularly. I can honestly say I enjoyed them just as much for a fraction of the price. I bet there is one near you!
That sounds like a wonderful way to relax.
Thanks, Joanne! It does sound like it, right. But, as I’m getting the facial, I often find I’m all tensed up, and I have no idea why! I really want a full body massage, but they don’t do them there. There is a place here in town I may try!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Marsha!

Thanks, Mireille! I hope your coming week is fantastic!
Sounds like life is really keeping you busy, Marsha. I always love visiting your Blog and catching up. Thanks so much for the feature for the vintage china tablescape. I love collecting and using the pieces I find. Have a lovely week.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Thanks, Lynne! I have been very busy lately. This coming week is a little more relaxing except for preparing for my weekend retreat and making sure I’ve got everything in line for that. You are so welcome for the feature. I was inspired by you to visit a thrift store. Unfortunately, they didn’t have anything I liked. But, I may try again! You definitely have a gift for finding lovely things! I hope your coming week is wonderful!
I didn’t see that pork one but it looks amazing!! There are so many great posts each week!
There really are. I try to get one from several different categories, but I don’t always succeed!
