Week 139!
OK, if you live in Indiana, you can blame the encroaching snow storm on me! A big storm is on its way to us sometime Saturday. I’ve heard estimates of anywhere from 4 to 14 inches of snow! I’m guessing it will be somewhere in between. I’m just hoping it doesn’t start until around 4:00pm Saturday. I have a tour at the museum at 1:00, and I really want to give it! I was near the grocery store today so I stopped in to pick up a few staples. I’m placing an order tonight for pickup because Kroger has four times fuel points on Friday. Anyway, it’s time for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! I’m not sure about times right now, but I will still be aiming for 9:30 pm EDT. So, on with the show, right?
As part of our new year reboot, we are now shining the spotlight on a different blogger each week. We invite you to stop by their blog, take a look around and say hello! This week, we spotlight Jennifer from Jennifer Lambert.com.

Jennifer says, “I’m proud to be Gen X. My parents are older, born in 1942, making them from the Silent Generation, whereas most of my peers have Boomer parents.
I’ve been blogging since about 2005, when there were free little scrapbooky online journals. Those posts are long gone now. This site began on Blogger and I migrated to WordPress in 2012. I’m not a techie, but I manage everything myself. I don’t have an assistant. I like to be in control.
I spent a couple years of almost no sleep, spending way too much money we didn’t have on a blog that makes next to nothing. It wasn’t worth it.
I’m more balanced now. I blog a few times a week about parenting, homeschooling, recipes, our travels, and sometimes military life.
I schedule social media posts that I find interesting and I hope you will too. I won’t post clickbait. You won’t find me on YouTube or Snapchat or TikTok because I’m over 40 and I just don’t care about any of that. I don’t even really like Pinterest or Instagram since it devolved into something different than their original designs. Some days, I just want to delete it all and be normal and other days I’m crying happy tears over a sweet comment that makes me feel like I make a difference.
Having an M.Ed. in secondary English education never prepared me to be a homeschool mom.
I was a school teacher for almost ten years. I taught English/language arts in grades seven through college level in public and private school. I earned a gifted education endorsement and taught ESL, regular ed, and gifted ed students.” Please visit her blog here, and tell her we sent you!

Good luck with the storm! Whatever you do, stay safe and warm!!
Thanks, Cat! As of 11:30pm on Saturday, we don’t have very much snow. I think we’re supposed to get quite a bit overnight. The larder is stocked (there’s an old-fashioned word, right), and we are prepared as much as possible with no place we have to go. I’m just hoping the power stays on because I know a certain someone who will not be happy without his television and iPad!
Marsha,
With the Snow Storm coming this weekend, please stay safe!!
For today’s party, I am linking up # 28, 29 and 30!
Thanks so much for hosting this wonderful party!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are having a great week!!

Thank you, Deb! I have stocked up the larder and am prepared to stay home to wait it out. At this point (11:30pm Saturday), we haven’t gotten that much. It’s supposed to increase overnight. I hope you are safe and warm, too!
Thanks so much for hosting, Marsha. We’re expecting an inch of ice on Sunday which means lots of power outages and very cold weather for South Carolina. They are not as well prepared here as in Indiana. Thanks so much for the feature for the winter table setting. Hope you stay warm and cozy during the storm.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
You’re very welcome, Lynne! Oh, I much prefer several inches of snow to even half an inch of ice! It can wreak such havoc on everything…power lines, trees, driving. I was sitting for my grands in Virginia one winter when they received about an inch of snow. I wasn’t worried about my ability to drive in it as much as that of the other people! So, I do know what you mean about being prepared. And, you are welcome for featuring that beautiful blue table setting! I hope you stay safe and warm during the storm, too!
I got my groceries on Wednesday instead of Friday and was unhappy I was missing my points x4 since I spend almost $200! But I wasn’t sure what the weather and my mom’s health would bring on Friday. At least I am not fighting people for milk, lol! I am not sure that we will get anything but rain here, but we shall see.

Thanks, Mireille! I did a grocery pickup on Friday night to get those points! Luckily, we drink Fairlife milk which has a very long shelf life. But, I did make two runs on Saturday…one for eggs and another for tortilla chips because Mike wanted some. I have made up dinners for at least six nights (I think). As long as the electricity stays on, we’re good. If it goes out, it’s peanut butter sandwiches and cereal! I hope your mom’s health improves. I know that is a stress for you.
Good luck with the snow situation – I hope it stays at bay until after your tour!
Thanks, Sally! As of 11:25 on Saturday night, we have some snow, but nothing like they said we would have by this time. I do, though, expect to wake up to quite a bit more tomorrow. My tour went spectacularly as I had a wonderful group of guests. I had so much fun with them, two of whom had been to a friend’s tour last week. I expect to see them frequently.
We’re supposed to get upwards of 12″… as of this morning anyway but we’ll see. I did skip the gym to go the grocery store since I figured my regular shopping day (tomorrow) would be insanely busy and while it was already doubly crowded this morning I did manage to get everything on the list.
Wow! that’s a lot! I did see that we could get that amount, but I’m kinda doubting it. I’ll be very pleasantly surprised if we do. I actually went to the grocery store today (Saturday) because Mike decided he wanted some tortilla chips. Lots of the shelves were bare, but everyone was being kind and waiting patiently.
