Week #46
Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 are joining me for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.
Well, guess what? After I wrote about not doing much with Valentine’s Day, it appears Nigel and I are going out for dinner with some friends! In fact, the wife already made the reservations! Hmmm…what shall I wear? Believe it or not (I’m sure you believe it), I’ve got some Valentine themed sweaters. When I was teaching, I had several Christmas sweaters, enough to make it from Thanksgiving to Christmas without repeats. I started buying them the first year I taught, I think. I also had a couple for Halloween and a few for Valentine’s. When I decided to retire, I gave several of the Christmas sweaters to a friend who was an instructional assistant in the building. I don’t know what happened to my pumpkin sweater, but, trust me, it was cute! I think I’ve got two Valentine sweaters so I may go with one of those. Or, I may go in a completely different direction…I’ll just have to see what my mood says.
The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!
Featured favorites from last week…
And, now, it’s your turn!
Please link up your favorite posts, DIY, baking, gardening, fashion…you name it…as long as it’s family friendly! Don’t forget some of your older posts might be just right for this time of year! As someone who loves DIYing all things home, I am looking forward to what happens with your “Suite Dreams!” I know we will have fun as we always do with these friends! The problem will be getting the guys to realize we need to leave so the table can be used again!
Thanks, Rena!
Looks great! Hope you have a nice time at the dinner!

Thank you, Gemma! I’m sure we will have a wonderful time as we always do with these friends. We will have to make an effort to leave so we don’t tie up the table.
I’m glad you’re going out for Valentine’s Day. It’s a fun holiday. Thanks for the party.
You are welcome, Amy! I was a bit surprised the restaurant was still taking reservations. Have a wonderful weekend!
Even as a teacher, I never got into wearing themed sweaters… I do have a couple things with hearts on them but not strickly valentine (blue hearts, purple sweater) so I wear them year round. Hope you have a great time on your evening out.

Oh, I loved holiday themed sweaters, but I didn’t get into any other kinds. Have a fabulous weekend, Mireille!
Thanks for the feature, Marsha! Teachers have the BEST collections of fun holiday clothing. I love that you passed on several of your sweaters to a friend in the building when you retired. We use the phrase “pass the baton” so I like the idea of “pass the Christmas sweaters” for a retiring teacher 😀
Hahaha!!! I love that “pass the Christmas sweaters!” I’m glad I did before we moved as I surely didn’t want to pack that amount of sweaters!
Thanks, Sally!
I hope you have a fabulous time on your dinner out. We haven’t been out to dinner for Valentine’s day in ages and ages… but we’re hoping to plan a date night soon (maybe next weekend!).
Thanks, Joanne! I was a little surprised we could even get into this restaurant (not that it’s a fabulous restaurant). I hope your date night is lots of fun whenever it is!
How exciting that your Valentine’s Day plans have taken a turn towards a dinner outing with friends! It sounds like it will be a delightful evening. Lovely outfit.
Thank you, Melody! I am sure we will have lots of fun as they are such good friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and week!
Marsha,
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!!
I chuckled at your comment that you are not your MIL…I felt the same way about mine!! LOL!!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!!

Hope you have a lovely dinner out, Marsha. Thanks so much for hosting this party every week. it is a lot of work and it is appreciated. So nice to have my thrifting blog choses for a feature. Love to share on your Blog. Have a wonderful week.
Lynne
Thank you Lynne! I’m sure we will have lots of fun…the biggest problem will be getting the husbands to leave the restaurant as they love to talk! I am so very glad you link up with us. Your blog is lovely!
Thanks for hosting this amazing party and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
You are welcome, Patrick! I hope your week is fabulous!
