Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #56!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? Mine started out pretty well, but it has gone downhill quite quickly! On Wednesday morning, I woke up with a bit of a sore throat. By that afternoon, I was coughing and my ears hurt. Today (Thursday), I’m still hacking and barking. I’m just hoping it leaves soon as we have family photos set for this weekend. On the weather side, we had quite a bit of rain which has left our yard quite green. I mowed the yard on Monday which made me originally think my allergies were just acting up. It’s been sunny and warm. I have the rug for the patio down from the attic and have the furniture moved around. It was so windy, though, I didn’t feel like messing with much of anything. So, the back porch is just waiting to be finished. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to arrange it because Nigel’s Blackstone takes up so much space.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! I’m especially looking at my fashion friends! We are woefully underrepresented in the link up! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!

  3. Thanks for hosting Marsha. And I hope to see you on my Fancy Friday linkup party!

  4. Get well soon and it could be a bad case of hay fever, but hope it passes soon! It’s been very windy here too with lots of rain and then we get one warm day and we think, ahhh, lovely, at last…. and then it goes and we’re back to a biting really cold wind. April weather has been very mixed and not at all warm!

Thanks so much for hosting 😊

    • Thanks, Penny! I think it’s a spring cold which is one of the worst. I was telling Mike I hope it wasn’t like your 100 day cough! I don’t know how you did it! We had some nice warm days with evening showers and now it’s chilly again! I’m just hoping for a more temperate summer!

  5. Sorry you got sick! Thanks for the party.

  6. Oh no!! I hope you feel better soon!!!

  7. My cold turned into a sinus infection so I’m right there with you, Marsha. Don’t ear aches suck? My “one weird trick” for ear aches, which actually works for me, is to drop a bit of olive oil in my ear. (It makes no sense, and yet.) Hope you start feeling better soon!

    • Oh, yes…my mom used to buy “sweet” oil. She’d warm it up in a cup of hot water, then put a few drops in our ears, then finished with a cotton ball to keep the oil in. I don’t know if it really worked, but it sure felt good! In fact, my youngest called me the other night asking what to buy as his girlfriend had an earache. I’ll have to find out if he found any sweet oil.

      Thanks, Sally!

  8. I hope you are feeling better soon!

  10. Looks like a great group of very happy friends. So special.

  11. I am sorry to hear that you have caught a spring cold, my friend. That is a total bummer. I am so ready for spring weather to stick around for more than a day or two. It has been raining and raining and raining here. I am planning my first lawn mowing of the season this Monday and I am quite excited for it! Lawn mowing is one of my favorite chores!

    • Yep, and spring colds are the worst! You expect them in winter, right? We had been having lots of rain so I did get to mow on Monday even though our HOA pays for mowing. We knew it wouldn’t happen before we’d need to bail hay! I like to mow, too. It’s a time for me to just think!

      Thanks, my friend!

  12. So sorry you’re feeling a little under the weather, Marsha. It’s hard to tell this time of year if it’s allergies or a cold. Take care and get well soon. thanks for the feature for “Getting the Garden Ready”. After just a couple of weeks it looks so different now. Thanks so much for hosting every week.
