Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #61!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? Mine has been full! I went to three different concerts and enjoyed each one immensely. The first was my oldest granddaughter’s choral concert. I was amazed at the solos. These kiddos got up on that stage and sang their hearts out. The next concert was my grandson’s band concert. This included all of the bands from 6th grade to 12th grade…on the football field! It was sooooo hot, but we had gone all the way to the top of the bleachers and got some wind to cool off a bit. I felt so badly for the kiddos down on the field, though. The last was my youngest granddaughter’s orchestra. It has been such fun to see these three different orchestras just get better and better each year. Oh, and the Indy 500 is this weekend. We can hear the cars roaring around the track when we’re outside. I actually don’t mind that any more than I do the jets flying overhead each day.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! I’m especially looking at my fashion friends! We are woefully underrepresented in the link up! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam

  3. Wow you can hear the cars when you are outside? That is crazy! It sounds like a wonderfully full week, full of music and family. I always loved the kid concerts when I worked at the school. Wyatt was in one in preschool and it was seriously the cutest thing.

    • Yeah, we hear cars racing all the time since we’re also a stone’s throw away from the NHRA drag strip where some big race happens in September. There are races there almost every weekend and sometimes even in the middle of the week. But, the Indy cars have a completely different sound. I did have a fantastic week seeing all three kids performing. They have grown up too quickly for me! When I was teaching, I loved watching my students perform, too. There’s something so magical about a little kiddo discovering their talent…even if it’s only for a couple of years.

      Thanks, Erin!

    • You are so welcome, Deb! Your Joe would be so proud of the way you are continuing on and honoring his memory. Hugs…

  5. Thank you for featuring my Brown Rice Cooking Method, I sure appreciate it!

  6. Happy Friday, Marsha! As a retired kindergarten teacher and former church choir director, I love concert season and I’m sure seeing your grandkids in action adds a whole new fun dimension to it all!   Thanks for hosting this link up – we appreciate the time you and your cohosts devote to it each week and we’re so happy to be here!  We’re sharing #33 and #34 (highlighting a special “heart” anniversary for me) today. Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend ahead! 🩷🤍💙

    • Thank you so much, Laura! It was wonderful seeing them participating in music. I feel like music is one of the most important aspects of school but is so often overlooked. And, I’m so glad you linked up! I look forward to seeing your posts.

  7. We live near a race track and often hear the cars– so much so that it’s just become like a background noise that we hardly even notice anymore!

    • I think that’s the way it is for us with the jets going overhead at night. I think they’re probably FedEx jets because it’s so late when I hear them. I honestly don’t mind hearing the race noise. It’s just another sound.

      Thanks, Joanne!

  8. Oh Marsha, your heart must have been bursting with pride seeing all your grands perform in their respective concerts! Ralph’s band concert was on Tuesday and he unfortunately came down with a case of strep throat Tuesday morning and had to miss it. We were so bummed. I hope you have a most wonderful weekend, my friend!

    Shelbee

    • Oh, poor Ralph! After all his work, it must have been terrible for him to miss it. I loved seeing all three of them! They are all so different and enjoy different things. Thanks, Shelbee!

  9. Looks like a fantastic and busy week! I love hearing about all the concerts. I’ll join the link-up and spread the word. Thanks for hosting!

  10. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
