Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #81!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? This has been one of those weeks where it seemed like I had at least two different things to accomplish each day, sometimes three. It really makes me wonder what I did when I was teaching. Next week is a little slower but not much. Of course, two of those days involved taking Nigel to physical therapy. Technically, he’s cleared to drive, but we both worry about him jamming his foot on the brake. It was his right hip that was replaced, and the muscles are still building back up. There is so much road construction around us that it’s just easier if I drive. Luckily, we are only about 10 minutes from the therapist. In other news, the weather has been glorious with a few even better rainy days. Now, if we added in a thunderstorm, it would be bliss!

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! I’m especially looking at my fashion friends! We are woefully underrepresented in the link up! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam

  1. Those earrings are beautiful! I haven’t made any beaded things in ages; I used to make a lot of earrings, bracelets, and pendants.

    • Thank you Joanne!

    • I think I may actually make some, using this tutorial…it looks like I could do it! I actually bought some beads and elastic stuff to make bracelets. I got the beads strung and have stopped. I need to at least finish one!

      Thanks, Joanne!

  2. My week has been pretty quiet which isn’t unusual. Three days of work, the rest of the week crafting, puttering around in the flat, yelling at my brat “kitten” (Don’t you dare knocking that off … you little soandso! ;-)).
I hope your weeks will become a bit quieter again as well.

    Thank you for hosting!

    • Your week with your brat “kitten” sounds quite nice, Cat! I am a cat person but have had dogs for the last several years. My dog is actually a big pain when I’m trying to do anything on the laptop. He keeps grabbing my hand with his paw!

      Have a fabulous week, Cat!

  3. Thanks for the link up, Marsha!

  4. It’s been unseasonably warm even for us in the South, but it has been nice! I always wonder how women working and having hubbies traveling do it! I am at home and some days, there isn’t much of a break! Have a restful weekend, Marsha!

    • We are having wonderful weather lately. It’s supposed to rain a bit this coming week, but that’s OK because I love rainy days and we need it. My kids were all older by the time Mike started traveling a lot for work while I was teaching. The last few years, the oldest two were away at college so the youngest and I had lots of fun the weeks he was gone! Eating out and shopping, then hurrying up on Thursday night to get the house straightened up. I was only a stay at home mom for the first few years. I started teaching full time when our youngest was in Kindergarten. Somehow, I got it all done. My house was cleaner then than it is now!

      Have a fabulous week, Mireille!

  5. Marsha,
My week has been busy as I started my Christmas decorating….My Link Ups for this week are #22, 23 and 24 which showcases my Christmas Front porch….

    • I’m curious, Deb! How long does it take you to decorate for Christmas? I’m trying to figure out just how much I’ll be doing as Mike is still using his walker and wheelchair (at times). I’m so glad you link up with us!

      • Marsha,
It usually takes me about 33 days to decorate the entire house however, I never got to take down Christmas upstairs when Joe got ill at the beginning of this year….After he passed way in April, I just had so much to take care of that i just left it up…so that shaved off about 10 days so it should take me around 23 days but I am going to take my time and enjoy the process this year…I took 4 weeks to decorate for Falloween this year as it usually takes me 3 weeks….So far, it took me 2 days to do the outside and it will take me 4 days to finish the Dining Room today and that includes taking down Halloween and packing it away and giving each room a deep cleaning before decorating it for another Holiday/Season…I am glad that Thanksgiving is later as I try to be done by Thanksgiving so I can sit back and enjoy the season in December…..Hope your husband makes a great recovery and that you too are doing well..
        Hugs,
        Deb

        • Thank you, Deb! I love how exuberant your home is…it truly is gorgeous! I am so scattered when I decorate. I start one thing which leads me to go do something else. It’s almost like a row of dominoes set up, and one gets knocked down then the rest go down. I’m sure Joe is looking down on you with love and smiling as you continue to celebrate your home and the holidays.

  6. Thank you Marsha! Have a nice warm weekend!

  7. Laura always looks so pretty! Thanks for the party.

  8. Congratulations, Marsha, on week 81. Think of all the people, bloggers included, who have visited and enjoyed your site in that time. Hope things calm down for you a bit this week. Christmas is right around the corner and because Thanksgiving is so late we’re scrambling already to get decorations together. Have a great week.
    Lynne

    • Thanks, Lynne! I was kinda surprised at that number. It doesn’t seem like I’ve been doing it that long. I worked outside today (Saturday) which gave me quite a good dose of Vitamin D and satisfaction in getting some things done in preparation for winter. I don’t really do much decorating for Thanksgiving other than putting away Halloween things. But, since I didn’t put any of those up this year, I’m good. I do have to redo the table. I’m guessing Christmas will be a little understated (as compared to prior years) as Mike is still using his walker and the wheelchair at times. Luckily, we have very wide doorways. But, my big Christmas tree would take up too much room. So, I’ll have to settle for just the three trees this year.

      Have a fabulous week, Lynne!

  9. Thanks to you and your cohosts for the linky party, Marsha! I know what you mean about wondering how you got it all done when you were teaching! Ive often had the same thought since I retired three years ago! Have a great weekend!
