Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #84!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? Whew! By the time you read this, I will be done with stacking the dishwasher, packing up leftovers, and sitting down to rest my weary bones. It’s sad to think Thanksgiving 2024 will have come and gone. But, on the other hand, by the time you read this, I might still be playing games with my people! It’s become a bit of a thing for us.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! I’m especially looking at my fashion friends! We are woefully underrepresented in the link up! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam

  1. Hi, Marsha – It’s so tiring, isn’t it, to do all the cleaning, decorating and cooking for the holidays? I am blessed because our neighbors pay us back in food for all of the help my husband gives them all the time. He lends his expertise to help them with home repairs and issues with the city services. Beyond these little things, they know he helps to keep our community clean and advocates for our needs near and far. All this to say that a neighbor who used to be a caterer cooks a huge Thanksgiving feast for us every year while she makes her own. So all I had to do today was to get the dining room and myself ready for the food. Lol! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

    • Now, that is a wonderful neighborhood, in my opinion! Those relationships are so important, aren’t they? We did have a fabulous Thanksgiving!

      Thanks, Angie!

  2. Belated happy Thanksgiving! It always sounds so exhausting to me, but if everyone had a good time, that’s what counts.

What a surprise to see my innocent baby in the features 😉 This year’s tree is not up yet, but I’m sure there will be more shenanigans!

    • Thank you, Cat! It is more work than I’d like, but it’s so good to have everyone together at once. Your innocent baby reminded me so much of my grandcat who couldn’t be bothered with a Christmas tree unless there was food hanging off of it! We had a cat that used to climb up the center trunk and then out to the ends of the branches and bat ornaments off.

  3. Brought some games to the beach but we haven’t played them this go around. We have been coming down at Thanksgiving for the past 6 years and have loved this tradition. Rest of extended family is actually talking about joining us next time!

    • Wow! I didn’t realize you’d been going that long. It does sound like a wonderful getaway.

      Thanks, Mireille!

    • Deb, I hope your Thanksgiving was nice. I’m sure it was a bit different this year, but I hope your family surrounded you with lots of love and laughter. I’m so glad you link up with us each week, Deb! Have a fabulous week!

  5. Sounds like you had a wonderful thanksgiving. It’s certainly a lot of work. This ear I only had to make desserts as my daughter had
thanksgiving at her house and she is a fabulous cook. Thanks so much for the feature for the table setting. It was nice to do something simple before all the Christmas settings. Hope you get to relax a bit this next week.

    • We had a very nice Thanksgiving. We played games after eating, ate some more, and played more games. It was really a nice day. We do buy a smoked turkey so everyone just brings sides and desserts. I did all my baking the day before so I just had to warm things and get the tableware ready. I’m so glad you link up with us, Lynne! Your posts are always so beautiful.

  6. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays for many reasons but, boy oh boy, it’s no fun to face those dishes when the meal is all done, is it? I’m grateful for the kitchen help that comes my way! Praying you and your loved ones had a great day, Marsha! Thanks, as always, for hosting us all!

    • You are so welcome, Laura! I know…dishes are the worst. At our house up north, we didn’t have a dishwasher, but we’ve had them at the last two houses. I’ve quickly come round to using them on holidays when everyone is here. My kids are all good at pitching in to help. But, I also am one of those people who likes things done a certain way! I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!
