Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #104

Nigel had an appointment with the surgeon this week. After talking with him, we decided to move Nigel’s left hip replacement up to May 22nd rather than later this fall. I’m both hopeful and anxious. I know the left hip and leg have been impeding his recovery, but I don’t know that I’m ready to go through all that recovery stuff again. I know, in the end, it’s going to be the best thing for Nigel. Anyway, welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

Wouldn’t you like to know more about your hostesses? We’ve got you covered there! Please feel free to drop by the others to see what their blogs are all about! We are a very diverse group of bloggers. Links to each blog appear below.

Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity.  Oh, who are we kidding?  Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!

Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household  – The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!

Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.

Sue from Women Living Well After 50 started blogging in 2015 and writes about living an active and healthy lifestyle, fashion, book reviews and her podcast and enjoying life as a woman over 50.  She invites you to join her living life in full bloom.

As part of our new year reboot, we are now shining the spotlight on a different blogger each week. We invite you to stop by their blog, take a look around and say hello! This week, we spotlight Lisa from Lisa Notes.

Lisa says, “I’m Lisa. I write about how I see life and love in everyday moments. I share my stories here. I’m a scaredy-cat who is learning to show up for people and myself anyway You can find her here, and please tell her we sent you! I live in an empty nest with my husband Jeff. But I’m still a mom to Morgan and Jenna, a mother-in-law to Fuller and Trey, and Granna to four beautiful grandchildren. I lead an online community for One Word of the Year. I love volunteering for disaster relief, delivering meals to the disabled, working for common sense gun violence prevention, and promoting better climate science legislation. I’m a 5, wing 4 on the Enneagram. I can’t sleep late or for long at a time (yawn). I homeschooled my kids from K-12th and never was more challenged or learned so much. I miss my middle daughter Kali who left us at 1½-hours-old for heaven. I insatiably thirst for more knowledge (the internet is wearing me out). I dislike talking on the phone (except to my kids—phone home!). But I love my phone incredibly (for everything else but talking). Auburn University has my allegiance in the SEC—War Eagle. I love, love, love reading, particularly non-fiction. But I can be talked into a good novel too.” You can find her here, and please tell her we sent you!

  1. I also don’t receive a lot of mails, yours i get. Sometimes that happens, don’t ask me how and why. And then over sudden they appear again. Good news for Nigel, the sooner the better.

    • Thanks, Nancy! I was always for the sooner the better, but he wanted to put it off. I was just a bit thrown that we were moving it up! Yeah, technology is not my friend many times!

  2. Difficult decision to bring surgery forward but hopefully will be for the best. Good luck to your both, a challenging time!

    • Thank you for the positive thoughts, Lisa! Yes, we had talked about October so he could be outside during the summer. But, his left leg is really hurting and impeding the progress with the right. So, we made the decision to do it as soon as possible.

You are very welcome for the feature!

  5. Once again, thanks for another great party, Marsha! We’re sharing #32 and #33 this week. Wishing you and Nigel all the best as you prepare for his upcoming surgery! Happy MAY!

  9. Good luck to Nigel and you! On another note, that sandwich does look delicious.

    • Thanks, Christie! I would probably substitute a different kind of fish. I don’t like salmon, but Nigel does!

  10. I wish you and Nigel well! I know how stressful this can be. Hugs!

    • Thanks, Michelle! I will be glad when it’s over. I’m just really hoping he regains the ability to walk with little to no assistance. It’s been so hard on him.
