When is a Skirt not a Skirt!

Oh, she is fierce today!

When it’s palazzo pants!

This is the second pair of palazzo pants (similar) I ordered from Kantha Bae. I picked these up during their recent warehouse sale. Let me tell you, they are gorgeous!!! I love the subdued colors in them as well as the stripe that runs down one side and across the hemline of another leg. If you missed my first post about palazzo pants, you can find it here. Made from the silk of old saris, these pants are not only unique but comfortable and versatile!

Oh, Nigel!

These palazzo pants seem to be a wee bit longer than the first pair I received. Full disclosure here…Nigel does not like these pants at all! He doesn’t think they are flattering in the least. But, you know what? I don’t care! I love them. I love the flowy legs, the stunning prints, and the story behind them. I also really enjoy the flexibility of styling them. And, Nigel will get used to them as I intend to wear them frequently as the weather warms!

A little change…

As I mentioned in my first post, there is a non-functional drawstring at the waist. When I say it’s non-functional, that’s only when you’re wearing them as pants. If you pull them up, you can use the drawstring and tie it behind your neck. And, bingo, bongo, boingo! You’re wearing a dress/jumpsuit because there is still that micro inseam. I think I’m going to detach the string, cut it into four pieces, and make actual straps because I don’t really like the silhouette this created. I will then be able to tie it at my shoulders instead of behind my neck.

Another pair…

I’m not sure I’ll buy another pair of these pants. I’m not trying to minimalize my closet nor am I trying to attempt a no spend situation. I think these pants are just so unique and fun that two pairs are enough for me. But, Kantha Bae has so many other unique and fun pieces so I’m pretty sure I will be buying more from them in the future.

This was entirely an accident, but I thought it was just such a cool shot!

Remember LOLcats?

I remember the first time I heard the term LOLcat or LOL cat. I had absolutely no idea what that was. Turns out I’d been seeing them for ages, but I didn’t realize they actually had a name. Jack was begging to have his photo taken (OK, he was around and looked cute). He’s my little LOL dog. Jack is the third Westie we’ve had. Our first, Max, would actually smile. Everyone would remark upon it. I wish I could get Jack to smile. Westies seems to have such sad eyes, don’t you think? Poor guy…he really needs a hair cut. But, he had to go to the vet first for his annual shots before he could get to the groomer. I’ll post a photo when he’s all spiffed up!

Not a LOLcat!

The Lewk!

I wanted to pick up the purples and neutrals in these pants so I pulled out a crystal coiled bracelet, an old amethyst bracelet as well as two stretchy bracelets. They are all old. The silver bracelets are old and from Stella & Dot. I bought the amethyst bracelet years ago at a jewelry store in Winona Lake, a small artisan village west of Fort Wayne. The earrings are old and from eBay. The boots are L’Artiste. My scarf is J Jill from last year, I believe.

Wrap it up, Marsha!

I really look forward to wearing these pants/dress/jumpsuit as the weather warms here in Indiana. We have had a couple of days in the 60s and then snow! There are weeks we experience all four seasons in one! What do you think? Would you wear these pants as a jumpsuit/dress? What do you think of the print? Please leave me a comment or two, and we can have a conversation! Thank you, as always, to my subscribers. I am so glad you are a part of this little corner of the blogosphere with me!

  1. I have been looking at those pants specifically for wearing them as a dress/jumpsuit in the summer but I’m just not sure I want them quite that flowy. I do like the prints they have though and they do look so comfy.

    • I looked at their website and while I don’t think i will get these pants there were a couple items I thought were pretty cool. But I really hope to buy in store one day. Indonlike thr subdued print on this pair.

      • Oh, you will have to let me know if you make it into the store! My son is now working part of the time in Nashville so I’m hoping to go down with him sometime!

    • It was windy that day. Usually, they don’t seem quite as voluminous. I do have to watch wearing them when it’s dry as they can get rather staticky!

  2. Love how you wore these pants! The print is stunning and I love the gypsy vibes of this look!

    • Thanks, Kathrine! I’m looking at the pictures and think they really will wear better as pants as they’re almost too light for my coloring!

  3. That’s a great Boho vibe I’m getting from these trousers! A lot of men don’t like these. But hey what do they know right?

    • Exactly, Nancy! They get to dress in whatever they want and get no critiques! But, I like the pants so I’m wearing them!!!

  4. Ignore Nigel – wear what you like! Flowy pants will certainly keep you cool in the warmer months!

    • I have never worn silk pants before. I do wonder what they’ll be like in the humid summers. But, the flowy part will definitely be nice! Oh, I most definitely ignore Nigel…poor guy! But, he is not exactly a style maven!

  5. I feel like my pair is a tad on the longer side too Marsha. But I just roll up the waistband. I suppose I could think about shortening them, but I like it longer when I wear it as a dress. The flowy part is truly what is going to make them amazing in the 100+ degree summers. Besides the fact they are silk!!
I swear it feels like you’re not wearing anything.
    Thanks again for influencing me.

    • Hahaha!!! I’m glad to be of service, Jodie! I’m not going to shorten them either. I’ll just pull them way up high or as a dress. They are gorgeous, aren’t they?

  6. These palazzos are beautiful! Love the print and I really liked how you styled them as a dress. Perfect for Summer!

  7. Gah, Marsha, these are the coolest pants! I need to go shop this brand now! I love the colors and the print and your fabulous boots that are a perfect match! I also need to go see your other pair now…

    Shelbee

    • Are they not the coolest thing ever??? So comfortable and you also know you’ll never meet anyone with the exact same pants!

  8. I’m so thrilled you decided to show this other way of wearing these fabulous palazzo pants. They just look so comfy and cool in both variations. And you look fabulous! You are making me curious…. Kantha Bae ought to use you as an ambassador. Maybe drop them an email with your post links?

    • Thanks, Michelle! I have reached out to Kantha Bae…just kinda waiting. But, to be honest, there are so many people who love Kantha Bae I won’t be surprised if I’m passed by.

I don’t actually love the way the pants/dress look with the strap tied behind my neck. I think I’m going to make it into straps that tie at the shoulder.

  9. You know what? Sometimes you just wanna wear something because YOU love it even if it’s not “flattering” according to others (even lovely Nigel!) and that’s totally okay. The print here is so fun without being overpowering. I think it’s a blast of a look- and obviously the most free ‘n comfy!

    -Ashley

    • Exactly! I’m not dumb…I know my mirror lies to me on a regular basis! But, I also feel really pretty even on those days when that traitorous mirror works it magic! And, I think Nigel just didn’t like this particular look! He rarely offers an opinion so I listen a little more closely…and then do what I want anyway!

      Thanks, Ashley for coming by!
