10 on the 10th: Preview!

Hey, look at me! I’m actually getting this out early! Welcome to the 10 on the 10th June Preview! I know some of my readers are in the Southern Hemisphere so I wanted them to feel a part of this 10 on the 10th, too. I feel like I used up all my really good ideas in the first years I did 10 on the 10th. Would you believe I started this in 2023? But, the party will go on! As always, there will be a link party, too, so feel free to share this with your buddies!

And, because some of my readers are in the Southern Hemisphere, I, on purpose, didn’t say summer! The weather here in Central Indiana has been glorious even though I think it rained for most of the Indy 500. That didn’t stop it from running nor did it stop me from hearing it. That’s not a complaint! When you move close to a race track, you expect to hear it, and, quite honestly, I enjoy hearing those sounds. It takes me back to our first date…at a dirt race track! But, that was in May! I actually should have done this about anniversaries now that I think about it. We celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in just a few days! I remember thinking that was ages away, and bingo, bongo, boingo, here it is! I need to get Nigel a special gift, right? Suggestions are welcome!

So, please tell us about ten things you welcome about the new season you’re entering. What’s that you say? You can’t come up with ten? Not to worry, my friends. Just tell us about whatever makes you happy about your new season…the number doesn’t matter to me! It’s always nice if you add a little context, too! And, remember, you don’t have to have a blog to play along. You can answer in the comments or send me an email! I can’t wait to see your favorites.

Thank you!

I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for reading, commenting, subscribing or emailing! It truly means so much to me! If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, you can find me here.

  1. I’m quite sure I won’t be able to come up with ten because summer is my least favorite season. I’ll need to put my thinking cap on.

    • I hear ya, Cat! Summer is not my favorite, either, but I needed something! Of course, there’s nothing saying your coming season isn’t fall or winter because both of there are coming!!!

  2. Wow! 50 years together, congratulations! How about a gift using photos of you both from some of those 50 years which can bring back lots of memories and be looked at again and again?

    • Thanks, Rosie! That’s a wonderful idea, but, unfortunately, I was very camera shy back then. I do have some from when we were dating. I could definitely make him a book for that. It would be more for Father’s Day at this point! Thanks for the wonderful idea!

  3. 50th anniversary? Then the question pops up in my head………
    . What is your age………. don’t blame me for asking……I’m Dutch……. can’t help it

    • Hahaha!!! I’m 68! We got married when I was 18, and he was 23. We started dating (shhhh) when I was 15 with my parents’ blessing and have been together ever since. I don’t have a problem telling anyone my age although it actually shocks the crap out of me. I don’t feel that old. It occurred to me today that my siblings and I will soon be older than most of our parents’ generation were when they died. Thanks, Nancy, for asking…I love that!

  4. Fun! And this should be so nice and easy too. There’s so much I love about this time of year.

  5. Ok, let me get this straight- Create a blog post of 10 things I like about summer. That’s it? That’s simple enough! Count me in.
    Thanks for the post prompt!
    Have a fun weekend.
    All the best.

  6. Congratulations to you both on your 50th. anniversary . Hope you are doing something nice to celebrate or is it too early for Nigel to go out and about. We have a lot in common , our 50th. anniversary is in September , six weeks after John has his hip replacement.
Not sure I can come up with ten things about our Winter.

    • Thank you, Jill! We didn’t really do anything special since Mike isn’t quite able to do so yet. Wow! That is an amazing coincidence! I’m betting your husband comes through the hip replacement quite well. Almost everyone else does. I’m not sure I can come up with ten for summer, either!

  7. Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary. Hope Nigel is feeling and moving much better by now. I know it has been a long old road trying to get him back to health.
This should be a good 10 on the 10th theme for everyone. It would be easier for me to list things I love about fall but since I am in the northern hemisphere, I will try to think of 10 terrific things about summer.

    • Thanks, Leslie! I can’t believe we’ve been married that long. I remember thinking about how far into the future that was…seems like only a couple of years ago. He has his good days and his bad days, but he’s definitely walking better. I agree with you about things I love about fall…this may be harder for me than I thought!

  8. I’ve never watched a car race and our friends went and were talking about how fun it was. Have you ever been and did you like it? I didn’t realize you were so close!

    • No, I haven’t ever gone. Mike went to Carb Day years ago. My son goes every year and loves it. I honestly don’t have any desire to go to a race that lasts that long. I like short races like drag races. In fact, our first date was at a dirt race track! Thanks, Laura!
