I’m joining Amy at Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa for this month’s “Currently” post. The idea is you fill in the blank of five participles with photos, if possible. I skip the photos unless I already have them in my library. I am so impressed with myself! I think this may be the fourth time I’ve joined in on this. I had a facial today (Tuesday) and actually fell asleep. My aesthetician gives amazing massages along with the facial. I haven’t had a facial since February, and I missed that little indulgence. Tomorrow (Wednesday) is cleaning day, but I also have to be done and showered early because the O/T is coming to see Nigel.
Digging…
How appropriate Amy chose this participle! I bought several plants and need to start digging holes for them. First, I need to figure out where I’m putting them. The bunnies love everything I plant so I hope the plants I bought aren’t on a bunny’s menu. We’ve had lots of rain lately so the ground should be easy enough to dig in. Nigel saw the lupines and really liked them. He wants me to go back and get some more. Little does he know how much they cost!
Weeding…
I am always weeding things out of my closet. I have found a couple of friends to whom I give them. Consignment is just a pain because you really just get pennies on the dollar. I’d rather give them to someone I know will really enjoy them. Want to know how naive I am? I honestly thought until about ten years ago that everything I donated to Goodwill went to people in need. I thought they just gave the clothes away. Part of that was because we only got a Goodwill store in my hometown a few years before we moved. So, I didn’t realize you could go in there and shop. My church has a clothing pantry, but they rarely want women’s clothing. They almost always need children’s and men’s clothing. I am in a Gudrun group on Facebook and sold several things for a good bit of money.
Enjoying…
About fifteen years ago, my bonus son told me about a television series called “Grimm.” He tried to explain the premise, but I just didn’t get it. Eventually, Nigel and I started watching it. We are now on our third rewatch of the entire series. It’s not that it’s that wonderful. It’s more like visiting an old friend and catching up. Something I didn’t enjoy? “Wuthering Heights!” You cannot believe how much I was looking forward to that movie. Nigel and I watched it last Sunday, and I was honestly muttering things like, “Wait! That’s not how it starts!” and “But, they left out fill in the blank.” It was pathetic. Sure, the costumes were good. The guy who played Heathcliff was dark and brooding. The scenery was magnificent. If you love Wuthering Heights, the book, as much as I do, you’ll want to skip this movie unless you’re a glutton for punishment! On Monday, a group of docents (including me) visited a mosaic artist at her home and studio. I was impressed with everything! This woman is a serious artist although she never trained for it. The artwork in her home was flipping fabulous, and her screened in porch was as big as my living room. But, her work? Oh, my goodness! She has completed commissions for several people and places, including Riley Hospital. I did buy a couple pairs of earrings and pendants made from tiles.
Eating/drinking…
I don’t really have anything special to add here. We have continued to get some meals from the Food Florist. I order the large pans of various meals. These last us for three nights. Luckily, Nigel doesn’t mind leftovers. I also add a vegetable in there because they’re rather light on those. Since I’ve been on a GLP-1, I really don’t have an appetite so I’m ok with whatever we have. I usually eat Greek yogurt with some cashews for lunch and a protein shake for breakfast. I try to get 100 grams of protein in each day and usually hit that. Nigel is the one whose lunch varies. I drink lots of water with Crystal Light lemonade to flavor it a bit. I will occasionally have a bite of his ice cream which he loves, loves, loves! But, food is really low on my list of wants.
Shopping for…
I did take my oldest granddaughter shopping for her birthday, but we didn’t find what she wanted. The girl wants what she wants. Next month, I’ll do the same with my youngest granddaughter. She also wants what she wants. And, I’m glad they’ve both developed these personal styles. I also know those styles will change as the years go by. What I’d like is a pair of leather woven Mary Janes, I think. I don’t know if the woven leather will irritate my Frankenfoot or not. I’d also like a new pair of espadrille wedge like sandals. I need to have that back strap, though, to keep the shoe on because my middle toes on my left foot don’t grip like they should. I am guessing those nerves were severed during my first foot surgery in 2010, but I could (and probably am) be wrong. I’d also like to add some polka dots and maybe some butter yellow to my closet. Soon, if everything goes well, I’ll be shopping for new floors for the primary bedroom as well as the kitchen. A couple of years before we moved from our house up north, we put down the neatest square laminate tiles in the kitchen. It honestly looked like marble tile. But, I’ve never been able to find it again. All I know is the contractors who put down our LVP did a crap job. There are places where the vinyl planks are separating and others where they are pushed together too tightly. I also know it wasn’t the best quality. I tried to warn Nigel, but you know how that goes!
Wrap It Up, Marsha!
These are fun prompts. Do y’all miss the photos? I kinda like not having to put them in so I hope you’re OK with that. So, can we talk? What’s your favorite easy meal to cook/bake? Is there a tv show you’ve watched over and over? Any solutions for keeping bunnies out of your plants? Please leave me a comment or two, and we can talk. I promise to respond as quickly as I can.
Thank you!

A quick search suggest that bunnies may ignore these plants: Allium, Lavender, Catmint, Euphorbia, and Hellebores.
“Visiting an old friend” – that’s definitely the show “Jam & Jerusalem” for me (also “Clatterford” in the USA). I can’t say why, but this is a show that never fails to relax me and I wish they had been able to make more series. For me that has probably been my best box set buy ever.
At first I was so excited when I heard about Wuthering Heights the movie. And then I saw pre things about it and thought, no I’m not going to see that one. I never read the book either. But I was totally, I don’t know how to say it, when Kate Bush came with the song. Because I already loved England back then and it brought me back to it in my head. But somehow I feel so homesick whenever I hear that song. So I’m not going to read the book because it will bring me to tears. And it’s so dark. Lol, are you still following me.
