Jumping into the Deep End!

Not for me…

When jumpsuits first appeared on the scene a few years ago, I was convinced they were not for me. My biggest concern was probably the same as for many of you…the restroom! This jumpsuit is not my first rodeo, though! You can see my very first here. I have another that I’ve never worn. I need to shorten the strap so I don’t have dancing bear butt! But, I digress!

That certain problem…

This particular jumpsuit has a strap that wraps around the neck and through a loop in the front of the jumpsuit. The first time I tried it on, I thought I would need some bear grease to get out of it! The problem was all me, though! I didn’t have it pulled all up the way it needed to be. Once I’d gotten things straightened out, getting out of it was easy peasy, lemon squeezy! Now, when it comes to the bathroom situation, I’m a little squeamish anyway about the bottom of any pants hitting the floor. So, I always try to hold everything up and away from the ground. I had no problem with this jumpsuit!

Clara Sunwoo Grecian Halter Jumpsuit…

This is my second outfit from Clara Sunwoo. It is so easy working with them. I mentioned I’d love to try a jumpsuit or the palazzo pants. I also told my contact I was only 5’1″. She suggested I go for the jumpsuit or gauchos because the palazzo pants were over 30 inches long! I am so glad I selected this jumpsuit because it is so comfortable, has pockets, and is just a lot of fun! Did I mention it has pockets? I’m very impressed with the workmanship of these products because those pockets are seamless…meaning you don’t even notice them! They are, however, easy to access! I really like the camouflaging effect of this Grecian Halter Jumpsuit in Geo Flower. This neutral palette will work well the rest of this spring and summer, and even into the fall. Can you picture it with brown boots? Oh, I can!

The elephant in the room…

Some of you may have noticed my bra strap showing in some of my photos. Listen, when you’re busty, doesn’t everyone assume you’re wearing a bra? I was wearing a racerback one, but I didn’t worry about if it showed or not. And, I don’t worry about it on a regular basis, either. Life is too daggone short to worry about bra straps showing! But, this cute Tulip Cuff Shrug was a dream to wear for our day at Newfields and did a wonderful job of covering those pesky straps. The weather was just right but a little chilly in the shaded areas so a coverup was a good idea. I received this shrug in a large because I wanted a little extra room in it, but a medium would have worked just as well. I was thinking cardigan fit rather than shrug fit.

My personal opinion…

I love the quality of the pieces I have been gifted from Clara Sunwoo. You can tell they are designed with women in mind and are that dream combination of classic yet trendy. I am appreciative, too, of the help I received when selecting this outfit as well as this one. I honestly believe I will be wearing these pieces for years. If you’re interested in finding out more, please feel free to email me.

The Lewk!

As has been my MO lately, I kept the accessories to a minimum. I wore my Willow espadrilles which are perfect for strolling through the grounds at Newfields. I added these hammered silver hoops and a coil bracelet (possibly from Stella & Dot). My bag is an old one from Brahmin. It’s about time to switch it out for something a little smaller.

Wrap it up, Marsha!

I love going to Newfields. It’s not just a pretty place to take photos for a blog! The art museum, Indianapolis Museum of Art, is home to many original pieces of art, including the LOVE sign by Robert Indiana. From now until the end of the month, The Lume is featuring Monet and Friends. It’s amazing and will take your breath away! I know there are various places around the country with this exhibit. I encourage you to go! The Lilly House is a prime example of a 20th Century French country style estate. The grounds were designed by the Olmsted Brothers, the successor firm to Frederick Law Olmsted’s business. There are many different types of gardens surrounding the home. You can read more here. So, can we talk? Are you a fan of jumpsuits? Or, do you still worry about the bathroom dilemma? How do you feel about large gardens and/or art museums? Please leave me a comment or two, and we can talk. I promise I will respond as quickly as possible. I’ve been a little under the weather so I’ve not been as quick to respond (or even comment on others’ blogs). Please know I do respond.

  1. I have that exact same jumpsuit and I LOVE it so much! You look fabulous in it.

    • Thanks so much, Joanne! I didn’t know you had it. I love the print. It’s graphic yet unusual.

  2. You wear this so well Marsha! Clara Sunwoo is amazing, doesn’t the fabric feel incredible?
I could never understand when people would say they liked wearing jumpsuits on plane trips because – YUCK – the bathroom floor! I get squeamish too about that kind of thing.
    xo,
    Kellyann

    • Thanks so much, Kellyann! I love the fabric and the flow of it. I would love to get a liquid leather jacket, but I’m going to wait until I’ve lost some weight. I don’t think it would fit in the shoulders as well as at the bottom.

Oh, plane bathrooms…they are awful! I always cringe when we’re watching tv and see people all curled up in a ball on the floor of a bathroom. I mean, I know it’s tv, but still…ewww! And, I have always held my pants up when I’m in the bathroom because I don’t even want to think about what’s gone on there!

      Thanks again, Kellyann!

  3. Your outfit is adorable! I always feel like I am weird shaped in jumpsuits- I have a weirdly long torso and shorter legs, and they fit all weird. LOL. I like overalls, but I do have the same restroom problems. Lol.

    • I just have to giggle at this because I am so shortwaisted, and my legs are short, too. I don’t have anything long about me! My daughter loved her bibs for years. I wish she’d give them a change again now…I think she’d love them again!

      Thanks, Erin!

  4. I had a seafoam green jumpsuit in about 1997 that I loved, but haven’t had one since! The bathroom issues are real, and as the years go on, getting a single garment with that many fit points to work on my body is a lost cause! I’d do much better with a matched set. (I spend a few years in matched top + shorts sets my mom sewed during the era I had all my height but not the weight to go with it and off the rack was hard to fit. Those were the days.)

    • I feel your pain, Sally. I look at photos from just three years ago, and I was much leaner. I need to get back to that not so much because I look better (I think I do), but I physically felt better. The jumpsuits I’ve gotten tend to be less fitted so maybe that’s why they work for me? Were you tracking your clothing back in 1997? You always impress me, Sally!

      Thanks for coming by!

  5. Have you tried wearing it backwards? I got the idea from Lucy Bertoldi and it really works well with this jumpsuit! Love the pattern on this one! The fabric feels really nice, doesn’t it?

    • Oh, I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll have to try it. I wonder if it affects the pockets! Oh, the fabric is so nice! I was glad this one was suggested!

      Thanks, Mireille!

  6. I do think that certain jumpsuits are easier to get in and out of than other ones. It’s just like anything…they aren’t all created equal.
Love the print of it and didn’t notice the bra straps AT ALL. Until you mentioned them, and then I had to go back and look.
    XOXO

    PS. Feel better soon

    • Thanks so much, Jodie! The bra straps don’t really bother me, but there were a couple of photos I wanted to highlight. And, those doggone things were showing! I don’t think I would like the jumpsuits that button up the front all the way…that seems like a lot of work!

  7. You look wonderful in this jumpsuit! I love the print and color mix. I didn’t notice the bra straps either.

  8. What a pretty jumpsuit, Marsha! I love the print and the neutral colors and I agree it would look amazing with tall boots in the fall! I laughed at your fear of pant legs dragging on the bathroom floor because I had to change my pants yesterday for that exact reason! My washing machine, which is right next to the toilet, leaks sometimes and my pants got wet from it which is totally gross because it’s water on a bathroom floor! Gahhhh! Nothing grosses me out quite as much as bathroom floors!

    Shelbee

    • Thanks so much, Shelbee! I know summer hasn’t even officially arrived, but I’m always dreaming of fall! Oh, bathroom floors are the grossest! I honestly cringe when those scenes of people sitting on bathroom floors crying and falling over into the fetal position are on. EWWWWWWWW!
