Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #41

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 are joining me for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue is from Australia so she has worked hard to figure out the timing!

How was your New Year? Did you stay up, have some bubbly, and celebrate with someone(s) special? Or, were you snugged up in bed, dreaming of the new year and all that may come with it? I was a combination of both! I stayed up late as I always do, received a surprise kiss from Nigel when he awakened shortly before midnight, and was all snugged up in my bed watching Lucy Worsley (I think). I hope, if you set them, your resolutions work for you. If you’re more the Word of the Year type (read about mine here), I hope you have great success. If you’re more like the regular me and don’t do anything to set up the new year, I wish you success in that, too!

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!

  4. Marsha,
    Happy New Year!!!
Thanks so much for hosting this charming party!!! I truly do appreciate it as I do know the time involved with it….I hope you and your family are well!!
    Hugs,
    Deb

    • You are so welcome, Deb! I hope your new year is filled with all kinds of wonderful things! How much longer do you have to wait?

  5. I went to bed early for NYE but got woken up by fireworks. We did have a nice dinner and a great time around the fire outside. New Year’s Day didn’t shape up the way I thought but again a really nice dinner to end the day.

    • There were fireworks here, but, luckily, they ended relatively quickly. I’m glad your New Year’s Day turned out ok.

      Thanks, Mireille!

  6. We had my mom’s party from 5-8ish and then I’d bet we were all in our rooms by 9 and I’m sure I didn’t make it up past 10. But it was still a super fun evening that my mom is STILL talking about so I’d call that a success!

    • I think it was the sweetest thing ever giving your mom that party! I am going to throw my own 70th birthday party in a few years because I don’t think anyone else will. I was up until 1:00 but that’s my norm.

      Thanks, Joanne!

  7. Thank you so much for featuring my January Planning Assistant post at this week’s party, Marsha. I am honored and grateful. Wishing you a beautiful weekend and many blessings in the New Year.

    • You are so welcome, Maria! I think it will help many people! Have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous new year!

  8. Happy 2024! I hope you and Nigel have a great year.

The kids texted and FaceTimed us, so that was really nice. Other than that, we spent the evening at home. I watched The Twilight Zone marathon like I do every year. A tradition I started nearly two decades ago.

    • Happy New Year, Daenel! I completely forgot about the Twilight Zone marathon. It’s one of my favorite shows…even though some of them really creep me out. I’m glad you were able to talk and text with your kids. We didn’t hear from any of ours until the next day.

  9. I went to bed early on NYE – with a 15 month old daughter, I need all the sleep I can get! Thanks for hosting. I’m excited to participate!

    • Oh, I remember those days! Yes, you definitely need to grab all the sleep you can get! Welcome to the Traffic Jam!

  10. Happy New Year Marsha. Thanks so much for hosting.
