Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #51!

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 and I are the hostesses for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 12:30 pm.

How has your week been? We have had gorgeous weather here in Central Indiana. I actually mowed the yard yesterday! The grass is so green and full. My daffodils didn’t come up at all. I thought one or two were daffodils, but they’re all hyacinths. I think I’ll figure out where I want them and plant bulbs next fall. And, it looks like my roses made it through the summer! I’m scouting around trying to figure out where to put another. I am anxiously waiting the time to plant seeds and flowers. But, that’s quite a ways away. Yesterday was my oldest son’s birthday. How can I have a son that old? It’s so odd to think he’s now almost as old as my dad was when he passed…oh, geez, that’s a morbid thought, isn’t it? This is the time of year I have to really watch Jack’s feet, too. He has developed allergies (as Westies do), but we’ve been able to keep the itchiness away with some salve from Natural Dog.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! You just might discover a new blog. I know that’s how I’ve discovered so many and found new friends. And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!

  1. Oh hyacinths are so beautiful. I don’t have them in my garden, just daffodils and they are in full bloom. Enjoy your weekend Marsha!

    • Thanks, Nancy! I love hyacinths the most, but daffodils are so cheery. I’m sure your garden is just beautiful right now!

  2. Oh, I am looking forward to lawn mowing season! We are still pretty firmly in mud season with more snow coming next week. Ugh. Bring me some sunshine!

    Shelbee

    • Oh, I forgot you have mud season. We had so little snow this year…several inches below the norm so I’m a bit worried about the aquifers around here. I love lawn mowing, but we don’t usually do it here now. But, the mowers won’t start for a couple of weeks so I’m sure I’ll mow at least two more times before they take over!

      Thanks, Shelbee!

  3. We’ve had wonderful weather this week, but of course the weekend is not looking awesome. I think rain is on the forecast for today and maybe tomorrow. I do need to get to some weeding and hopefully will plant some zinnias in a few weeks.

    • We had heavy rains on Thursday with lots of lightning and thunder. Now, it’s a little cooler. I’m hoping to plant lots of zinnias, cosmos, and other wildflower-y plants on our hump this summer. I love to see them peeking up!

      Have a wonderful week, Mireille!

  4. Hyacinths are my favorite of the spring blooms! Although daffodils do have such cheery faces. 🙂

How exciting that my post was the most clicked!

    • Your post was beautiful, Erin! Hyacinths are my favorite, too. I love the look of tulips, but they seem to just give up so easily! Daffodils and pansies have happy faces, don’t they!

      Thanks, Erin!

  5. I’m always a month behind Indiana, but my daffodils are just poking their faces out of the ground. Thanks for the party.

    • You are very welcome, Amy! It’s funny how the daffodils in our neighborhood are at such different stages. One end has them all up and in bloom. The other end has them just barely out of the ground. And, we’re a very small neighborhood!

  6. Marsha,
My link ups for this week are # 30, 31 and 33!
Thanks so much for the feature!! I gave you a Shout Out on Face Book and will do so in my next post too!! Thanks for again for hosting such a lovely party each week!!! I truly do appreciate it!! I hope you are having a great week!!
    Hugs,
    Deb

    • Thank you, Deb! Your home is so much fun…something around every corner. I love how your husband is a willing participant, too!

      Have a fabulous week!

  7. Thank you Marsha for hosting and may you have an awesome weekend.

  8. Thanks for hosting the link up Marsha! I’m looking forward to nicer weather so that I can get out in the garden and hopefully grow some veg…I had limited success last year!

    • You are very welcome, Emma! I have never been successful with vegetables, but I can grow flowers. I do miss homegrown cucumbers and would like to try some in a pot this summer.

  9. We aren’t anywhere near mowing our lawn yet BUT it was warm enough for no coats and flip flops two whole days this week so I was quite happy. Now we’re back to cold weather but I know that warm weather will start dropping in more and more.

    • We have had so much rain and warm-ish temperatures that I wasn’t surprised we needed to mow. The mowing crew isn’t set up yet so I told Mike I was going to mow it myself! He wasn’t really very happy with me, but I didn’t want anyone (especially me) to have to rake it. It seems like this past winter just lasted forever…it certainly feels weird not to wear a winter coat. I haven’t gotten out the flip flops yet, though!

      Thanks, Joanne!

  10. Sounds like spring is in the air for you in Indiana! We only have one season in Florida and I miss the feeling of seeing the first flowers bloom after a gloomy winter. Just wanted to thank you for including our blog post along with all the other great posts you featured this week. Also, thank you so much for hosting!

    • There are times when Florida seems like a wonderful place to move…then, I think about how it’s warm/hot all year round and realize I would miss the changing seasons! You are so very welcome for being part of the blog favorites! I’m so glad you link up!

      Thanks, Catherine!

  11. Thanks for hosting this link party every week, Marsha. It’s always a pleasure to visit and see what’s going on in the “Blog” world. Happy Birthday to your son. My daughter can’t possibly be as old as she is either. Have a great week.
    Lynne

    • You are welcome, Lynne! I just don’t understand how our kids are aging when we aren’t! Have a wonderful week!

  12. Glad spring has arrived. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

    • Well, spring is on a delay here in central Indiana once again! I think if there were any precipitation it would probably be snow! I’m so glad you link up with us every week, Patrick!
