Week 166!
Y’all, this girl is whupped! I took my youngest granddaughter shopping today. This was a two-fer. I take her shopping for her birthday (which was more than two months ago), but we were both busy. So, we combined back to school shopping with birthday shopping. I thought I was a marathon shopper, but this girl? This girl is like the Energizer Bunny©! We went from store to store to store. I was really surprised at how much brown was out for teenagers. And, I’m not talking the teen department of a store. I’m talking the stores geared toward teens. The biggest trend seemed to be brown with baby blue…a nice enough combination. But, it just surprised me to see that marketed to teens. She ended up with quite the haul, but this granny’s dogs are barking! For that reason, this is going to be an abbreviated WTJR! I promise to do two week’s worth of featured favorites next week. Anyway, it’s time for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot! I am always aiming for 9:30 pm EDT. So, on with the show, right?

Oh my gosh, I remember when I had the stamina to shop like that! I don’t anymore. I’m generally pooped after two stores. LOL Despite your barking dogs, I bet you still had a great time shopping with your granddaughter! I hope you can get some rest over the weekend, my friend. (Although I know sometimes the weekends can be even busier than the week days. They sure are for me!)

Thanks, Shelbee! I have a wonderful time with her. One on one, we have amazing conversations. She’s got this fabulous dry sense of humor and is kinda my mini-me! Yes, this weekend is going to be busy…I have a tour on Saturday, and then two fashion posts on Monday (I hate when that happens). But, I’m already working on the posts so hopefully, I can get the photos done, too! I was just kinda finished after hitting Athleta and Lululemon…they’re kinda the same!

My daughter loves to shop! She can just go and go. Me? I’ve never liked to shop and still don’t. Online shopping is okay, though.
Thanks, Lisa! I had a blast with my granddaughter. She’s such a non-talker when others are around, but we chat about everything. She has a very droll sense of humor, too. I just used her Blogger profile and created one. It’s hard to find them sometimes.
Oh my! I’m still probably about 10 years away before the shopping era hits my granddaughters and I think I need to start preparing for it now! I’ve never been a power shopper but I do love the idea of sharing these experiences with my grandkids some day! I’m so impressed and I’m guessing you gave your granddaughter a fabulous day, Marsha! I’ve heard that brown is the color for fall! i’ll be on the look out!
Thanks, Laura! My oldest granddaughter has always been a shopper…probably because we took her shopping all the time. She is a girly girl. My youngest granddaughter is the marathon shopper because she likes to try it all on. Her tastes run a little more tailored and sporty. But, it is such a treat to spend the day solely with them, talking about whatever and everything. I try not to ask the same rote questions everyone asks teenagers. Instead, I ask about what they think of something. We truly do have wonderful times together. I’ve thought about taking both at the same time…but neither my feet nor my wallet could handle that! Yes, brown is definitely in here in Central Indiana. And, it’s really not even a pretty brown…it’s like hot chocolate that’s had all the whipped cream dissolved in it…just kinda bland!
