Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!

Week #42

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Traffic Jam. Look for the link up to go live Thursdays at 9:30pm EDT. Melynda, from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household, Lisa, from Boondock Ramblings, and Sue, from Women Living Well After 50 are joining me for the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot. Sue’s post goes live in Australia on Friday at 5:30 pm, I believe.

Are you still confused by the holidays? I woke up on Tuesday, absolutely convinced it was Sunday. It took a bit of me convincing me I was wrong, but I finally succeeded! It seems to take me a week or three to get back into the swing of things. On Tuesday, I tried a new recipe for date nut cookies. Both my husband and my son think they’re delicious. I think my husband was sad to see so many of them walk out the door with the oldest, but he does have a few. He also has me to bake more should he need them. These cookies are basically oatmeal cookies with a date nut compote topped with another oatmeal cookie and then baked. They seal right up. They also grow so I’m glad I didn’t go with a bigger cutter! I used one of those Mason jar canning rings.

The four of us would like to see the Weekend Traffic Jam grow bigger, so please link up your favorite posts! They can be fashion, DIY, food, lifestyle, travel, you name it! Please visit the other co-hosts as well as two or three of those linked! And, please spread the word about Weekend Traffic Jam!

  4. Hi Marsha, another great week of Traffic Jam. I actually post at 12:30pm Fridays. Your cookies sound delicious and reminds me now that I’ve had some down time from cooking after my Christmas efforts, it’s time to get back into baking. Have a great week. x

    • Thanks for letting me know, Sue! I don’t know why I got 5:30 stuck in my head, and I couldn’t find the email. Those cookies were gone in a flash. My son works with a young man who bakes on the side. He said they were the best cookies ever. Once I figured out the date situation, they were very easy to make. I imagine I will be making them soon!

      Have a wonderful weekend, Sue!
